A lot of deconstructed folks like myself tend to harbor a lot of hatred and disgust for organized religion, but I think that's a horrible attitude. Organized religions can be great when they see themselves as servants of their communities, regardless of membership.

Mormonism is not a monolith, as pointed out here. One of the best PR moves Mormons did was embracing that with the "I'm a Mormon" campaign. (Same goes for them buying ad space in the playbill for The Book of Mormon). It's actually been kinda sad for me watching them throw all that away recently.
