From my recent experience, the police took me to the local city jail (credit to HBPD, they were polite and professional the entire time), where they searched me and put me in a cell. Then I had to wait while they figured out what I was getting charged with (disrupting an assembly)

I'm normally cynical about politicians but this is statesmanship. It is affirming republican civic virtue. Not irony-poisoned snark, not focus-grouped talking points.
