I'm so glad "what's your favorite flower?" isn't a security question. Mine are orchids! My prom date knew this and got me an orchid corsage, and if I'd married young, I would have had them in my bouquet. Friends have given me orchids over the years. I can never make them thrive 😧, but I love them.

And, many people ride out recessions in grad school... I remember the larger cohort sizes after the Great Recession hit. Career changers AND those who couldn't find a good job post-undergrad sought graduate education between 2008 & 2012 (and beyond). I'm concerned that won't be an option this time.
