This is what weak, flailing leadership looks like. His inability to make meaningful change in areas like this explains the desperate, authoritarian bluster of his largely illegal Executive Orders. This is the sort of leader who opposing politicians should definitely NOT cater to.

Every time I read a story like this I recommit to be louder and more defiant.

Said it before, but I think you have to sort of invert Marx to get current politics: A lot of rhetoric that’s supposedly about economic interests is a mask for cultural interests. They get reframed for pollsters as being about economics, because that’s a respectable thing to worry about.

Every mainstream attempt to grapple with the rise of Tate and other misogynist ideologues have posed them as a product of men’s despair. Few have posited them as an assault on women’s safety and dignity.

People can teach Bezos about free markets. We have the tools. Dropping Amazon and anything related to Amazon is tough. I swear I went through withdrawals. You can do it.

If what you want is available on Amazon, it’s probably available someplace else. Preferably, the company that makes it. Jeff has enough money.

This is how i responded to @bsky.app:

"Data doesn't lie"? It's amazing how much the same people who mocked pre-eminent scientists during COVID are now blindly following a ketamine-fueled hustler and the teenage DOGE dorks.

Everyone needs to watch @acollierastro.bsky.social’s videos on AI. Especially those who work in the tech field and those who think this is appropriate for AI. This doesn’t seem like an appropriate use of AI as a tool.

Data is always open to interpretation. Liars are also known to leverage data in their favor.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

I’d argue that a grant from the feds is guaranteed based on the terms of the grant. Were that grant cancelled prior to the term ending, I doubt I’d trust a guarantee on a 30% annual reduction.

In a lot of ways the ONLY political story of the last 30 years is the enormous unabating extremist lurch of the GOP and the media has spent all of its time during those 30 years trying to appease that very group

Deleted Facebook. The last of the Zuckerberg apps. Feels good.

Watched and enjoyed Captain America. I would have loved it had they not stuck Isaiah Bradley in a cell for 3/4 of the film. Big missed opportunity. Cap, the falcon, and Isaiah together in an espionage thriller! Those three personalities working together could have been gold.

We got a Costco membership for the first time in our lives today. They asked why & I said because treat your workers well, you value diversity, & you didn’t cave in to authoritarian demands. He said: “We’ve been getting lots of folks saying that, thanks for joining.” Who needs a gallon of ketchup?

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)

He sounds like a future War Criminal.

Prices are motivated to move—they’re nudged, pulled, and pushed, like a bobber on a lake, rising and dipping with the currents. There’s a reason behind every shift. Prices aren’t random.

Zero is a number that raises eyebrows.

I must be a poor economist because this sounds like a bad idea.

People believe Musk is a genius. I feel like the stupidest person in any room.

Seems to me law students should know which firms do legal work for Tesla or other Musk companies. Has anyone compiled a list?

I figured this is why Vance was selected. He’s no threat to Trump whatsoever.

Getting off Amazon was hard. They make it wildly easy to purchase and receive goods. Since ditching Amazon, purchasing is harder, however, this has led to savings. Because of the friction between idea and purchase, I reduced impulse buys. Quitting Amazon has been good to my Credit Union account.

Chiropractors are fascinating. They do nothing.

@bobchipman.bsky.social makes a great point about negative media. It’s worn me down at times, leading me to skip movies I might have liked. The bad-faith outrage over The Marvels swayed me to skip it. I’ve been cutting negative media from my YT feed and it’s been nice. youtube.com/watch?v=50-P...

80m as it stands now. Anyone interested in sports and integrated AI summaries, still goes there for scores and more in-depth summaries. The sooner @bsky.app adds those features, the more users twitter loses, lowering the number of users @bsky.app needs to supplant Twitter as the first app opened

All these Tech Bros grew up loving Luke Skywalker and then became Darth Vader for the money. Never underestimate the power of the Dark Side. #RebelAllianceForever

The Palestinians and their supporters didn't create our current predicament. It's a convenient, counterproductive deflection to lay the blame at their feet, and given the degree of destruction and suffering they've endured, it's also sadistic.

Parents who allow their kids to be a political tool for politicians are gross. No exceptions.

Following the CDC's removal of critical health data and the potential approval of RFK Jr. as Health Secretary, it is crucial to access accurate health information from independent sources such as the WHO, Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins University, and peer-reviewed journals.

Ooooooooooo. I’m very excited for this!

Started to carpool to reduce spending on gas. #onlynecessaryspending

Yep. This is the same with Peacock. I canceled both. I am not paying a premium just to watch commercials anyways.

I want them to do anything. They have resources and attorneys who can advise. I have nothing at my disposal.

100% this!

We know. Everyone knows this. Stop tweeting the obvious. Talk to some lawyers or whoever you have access to and help us understand what we can do to keep our country. If you haven’t figured it out, MAGA is winning (won?). We need a strategy forward.

If I oversaw the Democratic Party, I’d hire whichever ad agency Nike or Gatorade uses and hammer 3 tenants: 1. Faith - believe in what makes you happy 2. Freedom - be who you are 3. Democracy - your voice is heard I’d run ads in red states for the next 100 years. Then I’d live up to the tenets.

The headline implies that Trump lied about not reading Project 2025. I think he’s telling the truth. I can’t imagine a world where he reads anything longer than a Tweet.

I’d vote for her to be President.

republicans. not "extreme republicans." not "maga." literally all republicans.

I love when people say stuff like "the biopic about this administration is going to be SCATHING" brother at this rate the biopic is going to be called "The Great Patriot: Rise Of A Ruler" and they'll make our kids watch it in school

The ongoing fight to save this country from itself…Jesus.
