If only they merely did nothing, like homeopathy (yes, this also sometimes introduces harm (because, holy shit, they're doing homeopathy wrong!), and also yes, the lack of proper care is actual harm)
And they often have a multi-faceted "Wellness" practice where every one of their other practices is another grift, while they're trying to grift you into buying expensive subscriptions to them.
When I was little I used to think they were back/spine specific doctors but nope. Just absolute quackery and for some reason a lot of antivaxxers/fundamentalist Christians swear by them??? Much to think about.
"Can you crack my back for me?"
"Sure, it's my job"
"You can live off that?"
"I charge $100 per cracking"
"And people pay?"
"I strongly imply it's a medical procedure."
Mine saved me from needing surgery twice now, but he's also a physio, kinesthesiologist, and physical trainer who runs 50kms for fun. He adjusts only when my sciatica gets bad
There's clearly quacks out there, but don't discourage people from getting help from good folks that doesn't require pills
I just get sad when I see posts like this because I wish everybody had access to a clinic like the one I go to. I injure myself, they fix me, and I bugger off for a another couple of years.
Find a good clinic without the pseudo science and sales gimmicks, they exist!
Smh, you disrespect them after their years of zero formal medical training, studying pseudoscience, and hard work breaking people's backs in ways that do not heal properly 😤 /s
They pop my back and hips real good lol. Which makes me feel better for a bit. The one I go to also does physio therapy and massage therapy though, so it's not the only thing in my treatment for my dance related body aches. I think you just gotta be realistic about what they can and can't do.
I have scoliosis so whenever I meet a chiropractor or acupuncturist in the wild, they go rapidly from "let me offer you a deal" to backpedaling like a frightened scooby doo when they find out.
I was once referred to a chiro for a medical massage. Before he even touched me he tried to push me into a $2000 decompression program and made me watch a video about it.
Don't underestimate the power of pretending to do something.
I had a bad neck for a week or so there after sleeping on it bad one night. It FELT like something could just be done quickly to fix it, like some extra neck juice that needed to be released.

Vertebral artery dissections from neck adjustments are a thing.

That's where chiropractors scam people
