Interesting! I'm not sure anyone else in Ottawa Centre thought they were done with politics. The loss to Sutcliffe hurt, but we all knew Catherine would be back and strong as ever for another fight.

The River and Stone card deck created by @bethsobel.bsky.social is beautiful.

That sucks. My kid just had 3 days off due to a bad cold and today was going to be his first day back. Win!

You might even say, "The New York Yankees of baseball"?

I only had to spend 12 seconds to fact-check the video on my own, but 98% of the general population (stat made up) would just assume this innocuous "fact" is real. Is the a society-ending problem? No. But AI can be used for good and this is a reasonable spot to start.

Did you know that 16th century Turkish law allowed for women to divorce their husbands if they didn't provide them with sufficient coffee? You didn't? Well, that's good, because that's a completely made up thing I "learned" in a video today.

I see so many posts right now where people are exaggerating what Trump is doing. You don't need to use hyperbole, folks! What he's actually doing is bad enough! And even non-political stuff could benefit.

From Alphabet/Google's current code of conduct: "And remember... don’t be evil, and if you see something that you think isn’t right – speak up!"

Also, opening a box to teach a new board game to someone I know will enjoy it is absolutely the most exciting part of the board game "arc" to me. Most fun? No. But the anticipation of knowing that you are going to make someone's day is pretty awesome.

And here's the "problem" with AI. There are endless applications that can absolutely make the world a better place and yet there are so many other applications that actively work to destroy society as we know it. Governments need to figure out policy now to encourage the right AI research.

Even cooler! Near null island, there's a set of points shaped like the US (you can see Florida in the lower right.) But when you zoom out, they're off the coast of Liberia, exactly where they'd be if the latitude and longitude were both divided by 10 (eg so NYC is at 4.1, -7.4 instead of 40.7, -74).

In summary, Ford's bike lane removals will, according to a new City Hall report: - Cost $75 million in direct costs and sunk costs. - Make traffic much, much worse for at least nine months during construction to remove lanes - Have minimal long-term impact on car travel times.

Thanks for writing these designer diaries. I'll often be playing a game and thinking, "I wish the designer did x instead" and I love that I can go find diaries like this to learn why my idea was thrown out and why the final design is better. Looking forward to backing in 30min!

Also, CBC refused an interview with a CBC reporter? That's a new one.

Castles of Burgundy is my favorite game, but the list of things I hate about it is as long as my likes. That said, I'm 100% sure that I disagree with all of your negatives about [popular game] and demand you retract them as part of your review.
