none of this means that parrys are bad, but what it DOES mean is that they should be carefully considered before you implement them into your game, and that often doesn't actually happen
comment in response to post
like, if a game has a parry system, that effectively solves every single combat challenge. how do you beat this boss? learn the parry timings and once you do you're effectively unkillable. you can design around this fact, but the parry becomes an unignorable monolith at the center of your game
comment in response to post
so like, you know how the optimal way to play Bethesda games is to be a stealth archer, but doing that is actually fairly unfun because you're just doing the same thing over and over again? parrying is the same thing, just on a single button

also trump had just killed like, a million Americans? and was poised to kill millions more. (biden changed nothing and is responsible for millions of dead Americans too, but we couldnt have predicted that at the time)

like from where I'm sitting, this is a tantrum rooted in the idea that the democratic party is flawless. ya'll campaigned like you were McCain in '08,you don't get to be shocked that it didn't work out

"blame and anger should be focused on the fascists" "alright you sexist pigfuckers, if you ever said you understand why a Palestinian wouldn't have voted for kamala we don't need you" like, do you see the disconnect? why would I ever engage with someone who can't even try to see my point of view?

the reverse of xehanort is TRONAHEX so really its all winners lol

I also want to say that you'll always have at least one of every type of attack/defense card availiable, but I could be wrong about that part. there's been a few combat systems close enough to this that stuff got jumbled in my mind.
comment in response to post
also, the numbers only come into play if the "correct" defence option isn't picked a 1 parry will always prevent all damage from even a 9 thrust (I believe, currently doing save state science on that)
comment in response to post
just booted the game up and then opened the manual to make sure I was remembering right: basically you want higher numbers, and equipment is either a plus modifier to its associated moves or futzes with your deck to make better cards of that type show up
comment in response to post
dueling is just rock paper scissors, basically. I don't know if there's a strategy to make it more consistent though
comment in response to post
if there's ways to manipulate lore counters this might also be a way to make all your creatures invincible as well
comment in response to post
that might still suck (in fact I'm confident it would), but that at least transforms it from "pretend you're a green deck for a bit" to winding up for a huge swing at the end

I haven't played magic since tribes were the hot new design paradigm, but I feel like a better option would be to change the text so that the knight tokens you create are indestructible, but you can't attack until turn 5

when you unlock the ability to do more than 9999 damage near the end of ff8 I was hyped to see Big Number, if that number never went above 11111 I would have been exactly as hype

you know these people don't ever click through to the profile before replying though

yeah, that's how all these chud losers operate. if a human at youtube finds out the video will probably be put back up, but there's not a lot of those left anymore

at 37 years of age I'm thinking about getting my first tattoo, and it's of a flegg
comment in response to post
oh huh. I actually did see one tiktok where someone was doing that and I wrote it off as someone being just wildly stupid. but yeah, kids can, in fact, be wildly stupid, so it's not impossible to me
comment in response to post
have you played any of the we were here games? they're co-op but all of them has at least one move the liquid from tank to tank puzzle
comment in response to post
but wait, last month he was paying for Canadian tiktok ads trying to convince us that he hated that no good evil trump so please come vacation in California??? which is it Gavin?

the entire time I've been politically aware, it's been shitheads yelling about how feminism hates men, and feminists explaining that 16 year old boys aren't the patriarchy and are, in fact, victims of it.

keep in mind too hot is really hot in my experience. I've used full hot tap water and had no yeast issues in the past.

in my defense, I haven't thought of a mainline final fantasy as a JRPG since 10 (12 has an argument that it's kind of a JRPG auto-battler but I don't respect that argument). the J for me has always indicated that they were the style of RPGs out of Japan in the late 80's-early 2000's
comment in response to post
hi I'm the weirdo who hasn't for one second considered a fromsoft game a JRPG. they're action games,
comment in response to post
I don't need them to sound french, I just like to live in the fantasy world where england doesn't exist. Maybe they could be scottish or irish instead?

kids, you're all talking about whether someone has the juice or not, but I'm here to tell you about someone who didn't just have the juice, but who had the power within him to give anyone the juice

as a child of the CRT era, aside from early PC games using them to save space, I first *saw* a scanline from something trying to emulate CRTs. there was some pixel bleed on CRTs, but unless it was a pure red pixel it was nowhere near as smeary as people try to claim
comment in response to post
nah, that's the alt text, if you click the comic on the non mobile version it links you to surveillance footage of the kidnapping

if artistry or joy still lived at Bethesda studios, they would have put the work in to make adoring fan look exactly like he did in the original game.

this is what I do with every audio device that connects to my computer that isn't my speakers, my headphones, or my microphone. but there's no guarantee because windows was designed by lunatics and sometimes it just like, forgets about all that

there are currently 44 mods on nexus already, the graphical ones are just things you could do in any ue5 game, but there's one proof of concept texture replacer, and a few basic gameplay mods (tweaking the stats on a sword, adjusting carry weight, etc)
comment in response to post
which like, secondary to the idea of spending sixty bucks on an ugly remaster or not crossing the bds boycott but it's another feather in the "don't buy this" cap u kno?
comment in response to post
so weirdly enough it looks like ue5 is *only* being used for rendering, and the original oblivion stuff is still there to the degree that theyve been able to get the old creation kit to load it up. it's probably just as moddable as ever, MS just doesn't want you to mod it
comment in response to post
I just took a look and either no one posting there cares (possible, there's only a few pages of posts total talking about the remaster all all), or any posts about it are getting silently deleted. 50/50 tbh
comment in response to post
also you need to install ps3 roms. that feels perverse to me.
comment in response to post
for me, I think it's because I couldn't emulate ps2 games basically at all, so why bother thinking about ps3, then when I got a machine that could do ps2 it could ALSO do ps3 emulation. Drakengard 3 just worked the first time I ever tried it

the music is probably never going to be as hype as void stranger, but it IS reactive. draft a few unlucky reds in a row and the vibes become REAL tense.

the bigger concern is that he likes to drink it from the wrong side, and the fountain bit tends to drag a bunch of his neck hair into it.
comment in response to post
I got a fountain for my cat (he loves it, it's his favorite object in the world) and the water lasts a lot longer, but like... it's water, and almost none of it that touches my cat winds up back in the reservoir

also notably: Canada's relationship is REALLY chilly still. Canada was very much working to worsen tensions between China and the west before the Ukraine war popped off. I'd hope that our government starts trying to mend bridges there but for now Canada specifically is a bad place for this.

hey quick question, what do you know about the MOVE bombing
comment in response to post
just want to point out that humans actually do have a suite of sensors that they use to drive, it's just not a lot: eyes, ears, and the ability to feel the road condition. that's still more than what a tesla has.
comment in response to post
yes, but also earlier this year they renamed office 365 (probably their most important product after windows) to copilot 365 so Microsoft is a land of contrasts
comment in response to post
in this case I'd assume they had contracts in place they couldn't back out of
comment in response to post
I mean, it would be weird for them to remove the framing device of their game after 20 years, but boring complaints about it have caused them to drastically cut back on it so its possible!
comment in response to post
I'm sorry you don't want to spend upwards of 20 minutes out of an 80 hour game thinking about the goofy sci fi framing device. hopefully someday you'll learn how to have fun.

hi this is actually what the nice and kind ai would do, because it's the only logical action! you can trust the guy who made it up because he was a veryvery smart logic boy.

it first requires you to think so highly of yourself and your influence that a scenario where an entire multiverse would be generated just to punish you in the past somehow. it's just people trying to port radical Christianitys hell over to atheism
