I certainly hope so. Else we’re in big trouble. But the whole discourse that there is active socialist opposition in the UK or the US just isn’t the case. There are people fighting capitalist monopolization—Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbin for example—but both have been sabotaged by their parties

Capitalism has already won. The only people who live under socialism are the super-rich. Literally every sector of the UK has been taken over by private companies which is why it is so dysfunctional. Many many hospitals have been privatized and only appear to be public.

Fewer boys for sure. Definitely feels like there’s been a heavy post-election migration from Twitter.

I should say that I think it's also really important to counter the dem's narrative that Americans are naturally right-wing. I believe it's dangerous. The democratic party are trying to exonerate themselves from responsibility for this catastrophic loss and justify their party moving further right

I think the point stands though. Red states voted for progressive platforms while blue states did not. Moving further to the left might have turned those red states blue. Not to mention that both Biden in 2020 and Obama in 2012 both ran on progressive agendas. At least more so than 2016 or 2024

I think it is. The dems did have some good working class initiatives, but they didn’t run on them nor did they take credit for what they did. Instead, Kamala ran her campaign beside Liz Cheney and billionaires. She chose not to run beside the biggest union leader in America. It sends a clear message

I hate Trump and am very frightened, but if the dems don’t change their strategy we’re in very serious trouble. More people didn’t vote for trump, fewer people voted for dems, because they alienated their working class base

The dems were wildly unpopular. They lost around 15 million votes this election compared to 2020. The republicans lost 3 million. Progressive initiatives including abortion were widely popular in red districts. Kamala was not. This is about class and alienating working class votes

Yeah, I’ve done all the streamlining I can + rewritten the query like 100 times, so I just need to send it out at this point. It just feels very vulnerable and icky.

That's helpful! I ended up posting to the querytracker page asking if it was common to receive an auto-reply or not. Hopefully that will tell me whether the query went through or not.
