15 more months of our kooky billionaires playing musical chairs for the top spot to drain the public fisc is going to have consequences in the midterms. Especially when ppl realize that the Medicaid the GOP is going to slash funds nursing home care for most Americans.

Eric Adams: Wait till they see the absolutely lunatic crap I'm gonna pull now. Bring me stilts, a bushel of oranges and 12 Oujia boards. We're doing a press conference at the stroke of midnight!

Wall Street and prominent Republicans SAY they think so. Big difference. Post 9/11 - Everyone's leaving NYC. Post COVID - Everyone's really leaving NYC this time! Post Mamdani - Ok, after a couple of false starts, leaving now!

Exactly like the GOP ones in 2006 when that party started its reordering. There will be a reordering of similar scope on the Dem side or this party will basically cease to exist.

I read this and thought, "Three?" I forgot Liz Truss! lol

It's gonna be a while before Dems have a woman nominee again. The US is not ready for it. (Bravo to the UK for your early showing!)

Dem electeds appear to have zero grasp of the level of rage they have inspired among their voters in the last six months (and before). It's spooky the level of disregard/unreality they are showing. Again and again voting for Trump nominees, legislation, business as usual.

In a two party system, a party can't go off the ledge like the GOP has without the other party being, basically, as dysfunctional. I thought it was only a function of Dems being unable/unwilling to exercise power. But the Dem problem is much bigger than that. It'll take a few cycles to fix.

Hoss? Wtf. Lol Btw I'm in bklyn and have lived here for 30 years. Thanks for the info on NYC tho!!! Also you are misreading my post tho bc your response is a non sequitur I'm not able to tell exactly how

I don't even see it as the Biden line on Israel. It's the Biden line on Palestinians/Muslims/Arabs i.e., being lesser.

I think it's that he's charismatic and young (which has an almost mystical pull at the point lol) and we're all so starved for something not grim

It's a hilarious reach to call these things "theatrics" and my god "self fellating". Every politician in the world communicates thru dress and the food thing is like a regular and thankfully light part of our politics! Rob this is a Wendy's

Remember how Buttigieg was absolutely qualified to be President when he won his election as South Bend mayor by getting like 8000 votes.

Liberal and soft left Dems have just totally embraced the GOP's "we have a fake test for you to pass" move. It works every time against Dems in Congress, they figure.

Most Americans are going to see the "don't know wtf they're doing" clip and most will agree with it and will like the posture from a US pres. Domestically he's served himself well.
comment in response to post
Lots of Americans will see this clip and most will agree with it and with the US President being .... like this.

So agree. They are cutting us off from the world. I'm hesitant to leave the US bc of re entry. It's even ideas -- Trump's bizarre stuff on foreign films.

I agree that Dem voters want accountability and it is necessary but realistically there is zero - zero! - chance of Dem electeds pursuing that. Against ICE or any of the Admin criminals. Unless there are different ppl in the chairs, it is not happening.
comment in response to post
Yep. Urgent. The current party will do nothing to roll back anything that's happening now, if by some miracle they manage to win the WH or a majority in either house.

Israel had a lot to do with it but there is a big community of Iran hawks here, in both parties, in the media. There is almost no one speaking out against this (except as to authorization).

Honestly I'm not denigrating. What defeated Nazism was war, not resistance. Unless we who are opposed to Trump intend to take over the US military, build our own or invite another country to invade it's not a helpful analog.
comment in response to post
The premise is that resistance to Nazism was "effective." That seems a bit off.

He actually was not prosecuted. Jack Smith dismissed the case bc Garland charged him too late. The immunity ruling had nothing to do with it. Criminal charges as to unofficial acts are still prosecutable. The CR would have shut down the govt so no everything that's happened would not have happened.
comment in response to post
Talk no action. Strange that Trump wasn't timely prosecuted, huh? Odd! And *weird* that Project 2025 was published a year in advance & Dems did zero to prepare & are *still* looking for a strategy. (Wink wink.) Puzzling too that Dems didn't fight the CR funding everything. Coincidence I guess!
comment in response to post
So incredibly bizarre that you characterize this as an escalation in a war between Iran and Israel. There's the little matter of the US attacking Iran. Seems worth noting.
comment in response to post
Okay but consider it's not a mistake but instead is support for this. Is there anything Dems have done in the last ten years to actually slow or stop Trump? It isn't fecklessness. It's they like what they see and are relieved the GOP is doing it for them. All of it.
comment in response to post
You'd think Dems would be all over the issues where Trump is under water. Consider whether their lack of opposition is reflective of their support for Trump's agenda, rather than cowardice. It's way past peculiar or puzzling at this point.

It won't happen bc the Dem Party overwhelmingly supports this. The game they play is the GOP does the dirty work. It's not cowardice -- the Dem Party sees a lot to like in everything that's happening. That's why they funded it, confirm nominees and don't oppose anything.
comment in response to post
They support it. Just like they support ICE, the tax cuts, the huge unchecked Presidential power and the rest of it. They especially support the part where no matter what heinous shit an elected does they stay in office. Time to look at reality.
comment in response to post
The Dem Party is 100% on board with Trump's agenda. For those who are opposed to Trump it's time to realize that and figure out how we stop the destruction of the country.
comment in response to post
There's no way in the world they are ever going to prosecute the innumerable crimes this time around either, if by some miracle they ever hold power again. I don't know what the solution to that is.
