I also remembered to record the timelapse for once!!! but you can barely tell what i'm doing for most of it because of the way csp only records the brushstrokes LMAO so i think for future attempts i might have to figure out an actual screen capture option

I've not been able to find a lot about it specifically with regards to cats/pets/etc, as it seems to be fairly rare :(
I don't expect miracles, neither do my parents...but it's something I was hoping to learn more about, if I could. There's just not a lot out there I can easily find!

Also like. Tbh? For the art alone, the price was worth it. There's a lot of art, a lot of beautiful full page splashes and small illustrations... it's very nicely put together, and still offers a decent starting point, so however I feel about the writing matters less than what one does with it! :3

Ultimately and in spite of my own grievances, it does seem like a lovingly put together system.
I think folks like me who tend to prefer a more story/narrative driven, co-operatively played (and likely more casual) ttrpg experience would have a lot of fun playing up the tropes in the archetypes!!

Iirc I had seen people mention it was a kickstarter project originally, and some speculated they suffered from kickstarter creep but couldn't keep up and I can definitely see that being the case, if true?
Feels like....lots of fluff. Lots of little tangents 95% of players dont Need (or want???)

YEAHHHH... it's just sad bc I can TELL the core ideas are there!! And I can definitely work with them, expand on them, etc - it just feels oddly frustrating to see all the potential and cool stuff they had going on, but watching it just miss the mark retroactively...???? OTL

Like....the art slaps!! Concepts are fun and cool!! Love the archetypes they chose and the associated skills and mechanics....(though those, too, have a lot of....lack of substance/different motivations)
But this is just a very slight and VERY mild preview of the tone throughout, and uhhh...hrmm.

Its hard to take the rulebook seriously when it refers to the conflicts of the story as "Toxic Powers" while also having a move called "Big Dyke Energy" and telling you not to use that word if it makes people uncomfortable...but then keeps saying everyone is valid forever...

It feels like they lost focus on who their audience was (genuine queer people vs. entry level baby queers and/or allies) so the tone shifts wildly between coddling babified safe-space language (that feels overdone even for beginner players like me) and genuine but not-quite-there "camp" 😔💦

At times its excellent, at other times, more often than not imo...it feels like being talked down to, in a placating baby voice, by a well-meaning but ultimately too-controlling/naggy ~sjw~ from tumblr circa 2016.....??? 😭 It keeps reminding me that im valid and the game is a safe space......

I also know there's a screw internally that you can tighten or loosen to correct the speed at which it plays?? Or, mine has that - not sure if that's the norm!

It might be, but tbh the belts themselves are cheap enough online - for my model, at least?
That said, (bearing in mind... Im the furthest from an expert) you might even be able to use .... literally just a rubber band??
The old belts have a tendency to MELT, so clearing that out is important!

OK OK OK.....The radio works, so that's a Win!! The sound is pretty clear, not too bad at all
The cassette player doesn't work currently.....BUT, I think it's as simple as replacing the (VERY MELTED.) belts?
Online a pack of those is ~$15 with shipping, SO. all told....not bad if thats it!!

Looking it up, these are going for like.....upwards of $100 for a working model, and while it's not perfect condition, if it works that means I can collect CASSETTES.....which is exciting!!!
