I was talking about ICinA just the other day, explaining that’s where I’d learnt reverse is the most ‘powerful’ gear. Am i remembering rightly, and if so, is that scientifically correct? They were doubting me so I started to wonder whether it was misinformation!😅

Anyone wondering about the benefits of NOAA should read Michael Lewis’ book ‘The Fifth Risk’. He was given access during Trump’s first transition. Gave me a whole new respect for the things government do that you might otherwise never know about. Also, bet it makes you delete the Accuweather App!

I believe there’s research that suggests ‘high stake’ tests do not necessarily identify the most intelligent.

I liked how Mark Carney set the scene in his acceptance speech, about humility “…I have made many mistakes, and I will make more, but I commit to admitting them openly, to correcting them quickly, and always learning from them.”

It’s not unwittingly. They are connected.

I listen to music with 1 earpod to maintain awareness. Couldn’t we come up with a humorous advert, displayed in carriages to try to make the point. Or even the driver make it part of the announcement. Or display it on the electronic boards. Or a combination to address each person’s learning style!

Do it!…maybe under the guise of your earphones accidentally not being connected…make a show of being overly apologetic for the disturbance. Would make a brief but pertinent point!

I came to see what your take was but definitely wasn’t expecting that. More than a bit disappointed.

I like him, and I’d definitely recommend reading (or preferably listening to) his book ‘The Trading Game’. I found it both funny and sad, and very insightful. Seems he’s criticised for trying to narrow the wealth gap, having seen what effect inequality is having on this country. I support that.

One reason, perhaps, is that women have babies and are therefore more likely to experience sleep deprivation, which is a known contributing cause to Alzheimer’s (and auto immune disease?).

‘The Man Who Broke Capitalism’ by David Gelles explains…
‘How Jack Welch Gutted the Heartland and Crushed the Soul of Corporate America’. I remember working for a decent company which was infected with his dogma. As the old saying goes, knowing the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

Just listening to this and I fear things are considerably worse than I’d already thought.

Every post I make at the moment is literally about this book. NOAA, Dept of Energy and Nuclear. I deleted AccuWeather after reading it.

Highly recommend… Michael Lewis’ book ‘The Fifth Risk’ about Trump’s first transition into ‘power’ talks about this.

Michael Lewis’ book ‘The Fifth Risk’ explains NOAA’s origins and how AccuWeather prevented them from creating a free App, so they could profit from the state funded information. Deleted the app after reading it.

I mean, they only needed to read Michael Lewis’ ‘The Fifth Risk’ to have some idea about how much they don’t know.
