eh... ፲፱፻፲፮ or ፲፱፻፮ makes more sense given the publication date.

An excedingly rare site on page 11 is the occurrence, together, of the 3 punctuation marks: ፧ , ፣ , & ፤

I'm curious now when Eritrea got away from using the wordspace? The Swedish publishers producing materials for Asmera were using it at the turn of the century, but this changed later. When? Why? What was the first book published w/o the wordspace there (or anywhere)?

Perhaps a local publisher can be found to produce lower cost copies.

The ግዚ ligatures shows up in the 15th century, the triangular loop of early ግs is a favorite feature (f.61r, f.30r).

Filling in the empty space of ፬s (f.29v) and ፩s (f.13r) is pretty unique. ፩፩ makes a few appearances, but taking on the meaning "one-by-one".

Is that his thumb on top of then pen? So much longer than the left hand. I realize I'm a few centuries too late to offer a useful critique 🫤

The way he is holding the reed pen looks incredibly uncomfortable and improbable. The artist should know that's not how you would hold a brush or stylus.

A serious question, while I wait for my reed pens to arrive, what qualities do you find make for a good pen? What makes your favorite pen your favorite?

This was the day I fell in love with Bluesky! 😄 Thanks so much for this, I made a purchase and am so excited. Likewise a couple of items you recommended on Amazon.

Thank you! I was searching for a set with all of the items together and wasn't finding it. This is how I'll spend my winter holidays 😀

...but then again, it wasn't an issue at other social media sites while using Chrome. so maybe coming from a shared web technology stack.

Test -I think I figured it out, when pasting in formatted text from MS Word, Bluesky (or Chrome) converts it into an image. But there is an "x" option to cancel it. I see this happen with GMail as well, so probably its Chrome.

I'm tickled at the "ornamental headpieces" description because I've referred to them as "crown haregs" (ዘውደ፡ሐረግ፡) , as opposed to the smaller haregs used to divide sections of text.

That's on p. 93 of the first reference, p. 27 of the 2nd. On p. 93, in subsection 3.1.1.2.1.12.8.3 ... wow!
