Watching Nadia: Secret of Blue Water again, aiming to finish it this time. WIkipedia says the script was from Miyazaki, Anno directed, and they wrote scripts for a sequel but couldn't get the rights so made it into Evangelion. You can definitely see the roots there!

The Boy asked to watch The Matrix (his mate saw it) and that turned out to be still pretty great. The green screen and CGI stuff was a little dodgy but otherwise good. The second one is much more wordy and has a lot of smooching, which the kids can't stand XD
