I love the tagging system on Tumblr because I can go to any blog and find everything under that tag, which makes it easy to browse old things, something most socmed make it very hard to do unless the artist aggressively repost their own stuff
Most socmed want you to focus only on new new new

versus for example Twitter which I believe was found to suppress posts with hashtags in general unless said hashtag was currently trending.
Both of those things though are only for tag search and the "for you" page. The "following" page is the default on Tumblr which isn't operated by algorithm.

I think there's certain tags that Tumblr does suppress which I don't think we're going to avoid on any platform.
But it does not punish you for tagging your post well, only for misusing tags,

Yesn't. From my understanding it does suppress external links from showing up in the "for you" tab or tags (Though to my knowledge it's now only if you spam links in your post). It's easily circumvented by posting the link as plain text

What I wouldn't give for more intuitive search features across platforms and better tagging systems that doesn't actively punish users for filling niche tags ( Tumblr my beloved vs twitter my belothed )
So many platforms make it a chore to search for things and want you to rely on aglo-pushed slop

Nevermind, the guy living there right now straight up adviced me to not accept it 💀 There were some very good reasons why he's moving out

But it's not uncommon for people to have their project shut down (even if they don't earn money!!!) the moment it becomes more notable.
People mistake "The IP holders don't consider me a threat" to "They couldn't stop me even if they wanted to"

Yepp. It's very unlikely to receive a C&D if you're just an artist selling pins and stickers at a con, simply because 1: The company likely don't even know about you, and 2: Taking action against everyone getting a few bucks in profit isn't a good business strategy.

My go-to is to just screenshot and share with my friends to laugh at it, then hide the comment and blocking.
In a period where some of us got a lot of hateful comments, we turned it into one of those loyalty stamp cards. Using it as a way to have fun with friends makes it much easier to deal with

Interestingly, the same happen in some ants! If one of their limbs get really messed up they will approach one of their colony mates who will perform an emergency amputation to avoid infection and make movement easier

Pride is a protest. It's not meant to be a family friendly and comfortable festival. Being provocative during pride is not bad. I think it's healthy being provoked sometimes.
That's why you see kink gear at pride every year, but not when you walk to the grocery store (For the most part at least)

and that anything sexual and obscene gives LGBTQ+ a bad rep. Queer people have sex. If people don't accept queer people when they're obscene and sexual, even if they don't personally want to partake in it, and will walk somewhere else, then they don't actually accept queer people (continued)

Kink has historical context for queer people and have been used as an example of why gay people are disgusting and don't deserve right because just look at what they do behind closed doors. There's been a big push to make LGBTQ+ acceptable ONLY when it's soft and family friendly, (continued)

You set boundaries for *yourself* not for others. You can not control other's actions, but you *can* decide you want no part of it if it makes you uncomfortable, and have a right to leave any situation you don't want to partake in

Work on yourself. Learn to look away. I empathize if trauma or sex repulsion is making it a difficult time, but someone simply wearing leather or a pup mask in public at a parade is not harassing you. Your discomfort is not a foolproof moral compass complete strangers has to adhere to

sanitation going on, where LGBT+ people need to be more pure and soft, rather than "gross and sex-obsessed" in order to create a "good image".
But if someone thinks "gross, whores" don't deserve rights, they hands down just think people don't deserve rights. Being "unpure" should never affect that.

"I want to attend but I don't want to see that-" is dangerously close to the the "I don't mind gay people but I don't want to see it"
Kink is not just sex. It's an identity and a community.
And LGBT isn't just an identity and a community. Sex is a big part of it. There's a dangerous push of LGBT+

"But I didn't consent to-" you consent by going to the parade. It's held at specific place at specific time. It's a few hours out of an entire year.
"But young LGBT+" has other places. There SHOULD be LGBT+ youth spaces. The parade doesn't have to be one of them. It's a protest. It CAN turn unsafe

Can highly recommend. I've found discord to be a near must-have for zines and other larger projects.
All the projects I've been in that have been email-only has suffered greatly and in general had a hard time organizing people and keep everything on track

There is actually a "sexually suggestive (Cartoon)" label on Bluesky seperate from the "Nudity" and "Porn" labels
...But it's only a label that moderators can put on OTL
Hopefully they plan on releasing that in the future because that would be so useful

Admins and customer support have their own login to an admin dashboard where they can manage user accounts to varying degrees. Typically none of those degrees allow them to overtake an account.
A customer support that asks to have access to your account in any way is always a red flag (4/4)

Even if it's an actual customer support person, it's a liability to have them receive any passwords. What's stopping them from just dumping all that data when they get fired for some reason? (3/4)
comment in response to

There's a lot of things put in place to make sure that passwords are never stored in a database in plain text because no one working for bluesky or any other website should ever have access to your password. (2/4)
