My name is David and I used to be a Family History Consultant (now I'm just a Bishop). My profile pic is my great grandpa Gene, he taught me card tricks.

I’ve got a 554 day streak in Norwegian. I think doing more than one language at a time would hurt my brain.

As far as I know, the letter to leaders didn’t make it down to the ward level (at least in my ward). So I’m not sure how members are supposed to know what they’re expected to do or not. Maybe that was the idea.

Did you get their phone number? If you still have an Illinois number, maybe you’re his phone number neighbor and he has the number one higher or lower than yours.

Sorry about that. I guess my kids are right, I do tell the same stories over and over again.

10,000 maniacs was the last concert I saw before I left on my mission and Tigerlily was the first CD I bought when I got home. Lover her music.

It’s a slippery slope indeed. One day you stop smiling and the next you leave the church. If you ask an exmo if they were ever taught the Primary hymn, “If you chance to meet a frown”, the answer is almost always “no, my parents never taught me how to smile that frown away”.

If anyone is looking for a name for their Mormon rock band, I think we have a winner with “Celestial Peen”.

Maybe he should have said we have “concepts of a plan to build 8 new temples”.

Saw them in concert on a Sunday back in ‘93. Gave my missionary farewell talk, had an open house, then went to their concert. Still love that song.

I was at a FamilySearch conference (RootsTech) a few years ago and they said the reason for those specific policies was to prevent FamilySearch from being blocked in ultra-conservative middle eastern countries where those internet policies are established by law.

Same thing happened to me 30 years ago on my mission. If you also served in Argentina, that would be weird if they were the same.

I’ve worked in the Loop for 16 years and we still haven’t done that yet. Wife says this is the year.

If you want, when your underwear does finally kill you, I’d be happy to upload your twitter archive to FamilySearch, to be preserved for all eternity.

Don’t know if there are others. But I’ve found this one interesting.

That is awfully nice of you to assume that it’s even possible for a banger pic of me to exist. What’s the opposite of ‘banger’? Maybe I’ll post one of those.

The looming threat of nuclear war made it so that us young GenXers didn’t think financial literacy was going to be a necessary skill in the future.

The year we moved to Chicago (NW burbs) we had snow flurries on Halloween. I prefer this, but it does feel odd.

I worked in downtown Seattle for about 10 years, lived north of there for 30 years. It’s a great city.

Technically, the Untouchables is a movie where Andy Garcia, Sean Connery and Kevin Costner go after Robert De Niro for tax evasion. Doesn’t get any better than that.

I always get “skeet” and “skrt skrt” mixed up. All I know is that my kids have asked that I don’t use either term.

While mowing my lawn I found a similar but much smaller circle surrounding an old stump. I immediately thought of you and mowed around it….just in case.

There was plenty of polygamy in POST-manifesto SLC too, so there could be more in your tree than you think.

I don’t have recommendations, but we’ve found 3rd party booking sites (Expedia, etc) aren’t the most reliable on current pet policy. We’ve booked with them and were turned away because Expedia said a hotel allowed pets when they actually did not. So be careful and good luck.
