if I was the non-insane Five Eyes members I would be running a piece of fake intel through the system in order to see whether Russia then acts on it.

DOGE. Like the meme from 12 years ago

"Donald Trump put a satanist neo nazi child porn extortionist in control of your social security" should really be the leading story for the next month

hey @schatz.bsky.social I want you to know I literally laughed out loud and slapped the table when I read this. go off king

one of the things that the new Dem Tea Party will have to do is absolutely clean house of the entire Dem staffer class. These people are whiny and entitled, they have no interest in actually doing the work for the people (remember the progressive caucus staff association asking for a 30hr workweek?)

New York Times remains undefeated

Tom Friedman's best ever idea was to have the U.S. go across the world building electrical generation systems free of charge, and ship million of light bulbs that all had a tiny American flag decal on them for everyone to use.

Broke: do speeches all night on the Senate floor to a mostly empty chamber Woke: "Mr. President, I move to compel the attendance of absent senators by directing the sergeant-at-arms to arrest members and bring them to the chamber." That's a real thing, you can do that. It's in the Constitution.

since people are debating "should you bring an american flag to protests" again bumping up the correct take that flag-waving jingoism and flag-burning anti-patriotism are the exact same mistake in reverse. the latter is also suicidally self-defeating for your movement

They want to keep a Congress going through the motions not because they need it to pass anything... why would they?... but because it keeps up the pretense that what they're doing isn't already the functional equivalent of dissolving Congress. Don't let them pretend Congress is still functioning.

McConnell's obstruction had a couple of goals, but by far the biggest was control of the judiciary. The point being, there was a specific and defined plan behind his obstruction. Truthfully, Democrats don't need that. They need to be what the Tea Party dreamt of being--eternal sand in the gears.

"Do what Mitch would do..." No, not even close. Mitch didn't do even 1% of what could be done by a minority determined to keep the Senate grinding in circles getting absolutely nothing done. They should be blowing past McConnell-level obstruction in a way that makes it look like business as usual.

every ken klippenstein tweet now is like why is this democratic politician doing normal things and/or wow this person in congress is 76

Daily Beast coming out swinging like this means something beautiful and real for this country's independent media. www.thedailybeast.com/yes-its-a-co...

This is a start but, to be clear, still nowhere close to maximum obstruction. No UC, on anything. No unrecorded votes, on anything. No waiving rules, on anything. Fight even on adjournments. Quorum calls every time you can. Make every dilatory motion in the books and new ones you just made up.

Markets are acting as if Trump won't do tariffs; this complacency makes it likely that he will open.substack.com/pub/paulkrug...

AOC has preacher energy. So did Obama. Most Dems right now have management consultant energy.

remarkable to me that far from seeming cool or masculine zuck seems like an even bigger loser — the kind of nerd who preemptively gives his lunch money to the bully and thanks him for the opportunity

i need to hear about 200% less about the thoughts and feelings of "democratic strategists"

Just read the words “Caesar salad martini” and actually passed away

that's Harris's 100-Day barnstormer campaign pretty much vindicated honestly

honestly, the fact that we only have govt shutdowns because of Jimmy Carter somehow makes so much sense.

Trump eliminating the electoral college would be a serious “only Nixon could go to China” type thing. literally no other politician could do it, but the people who would scream about being ruled by commiefornia otherwise might just let him

republicans should definitely try to stop the corrupt democrats from winning with the electoral college by getting rid of it

We must stop alt-center radicalization that leads to incidents like this. Law enforcement must: - ban LessWrong - monitor LinkedIn use - demand the Atlantic release its subscribers list - deradicalize people by providing definitive proof murder lowers birth rates

bro who tf georgia'd my louisiana

I think we need to have a serious discussion about whether the Lone Star resurgence is because of the party itself or just Beto, because the party consistently does way worse whenever he's not on the ballot.

Having ruthlessly cut government budgets throughout his career, Bashar al-Assad to join DOGE.

If you invested your life savings in ‘Hawk Tuah coin’ it’s a probably a net good for society for you not to have that money honestly.

THE NEW YORK TIMES: Globally, the Healthcare Profession is Under Siege From Left and Right "Bashar A., an optomestrist in the Damascus area, says that healthcare professionals are scared - events such as the recent shooting of the UHC CEO 'have us all on edge'"

A true OG GOAT Lib Poaster. He will be missed. ✊✊🫡🫡

lol they're going to crash the economy

The last article ever published by the New York Times will be something like “Whether it’s the Democrats suppressing reasonable discourse on trans identity on college campuses or the Republicans lining us up against this wall, both parties are scared of free speech.”

stolen from my twitter: my fear with AOC is that if she runs too early, she turns into a Dem Goldwater– i.e. someone that was very ahead of their time. Instead of a Dem Reagan–i.e. the person at just the right time. She totally has the potential to be the latter, so hopefully she bides her time
