He didn’t want to honor my accommodations because he didn’t consider extreme anxiety and depression coupled with chemo brain and hormone blockers brought on by simultaneous breast cancer and leukemia treatment for four years was any kind of a disability. “He has stress too.”

I filed ADA accommodations after I went through a double cancer diagnosis. Years of chemo and a hysterectomy had me all kinds of messed up. My anxiety was awful. I had letters from my psychiatrist and oncologists, my boss literally got into a pissing match with me about whose anxiety was worse!

I’ve taught here for nearly 30 years. Born and raised and have lived here my whole life. I taught the history of the Holocaust for years. I always thought I got my message across. Some didn’t get it, obviously.

It breaks my heart to see what they are doing to education in this and other red states. The framework is in place and it is working. Classes are FULL of unqualified, uneducated and uncertified “teachers”…professionalism is null and void which means so are behaviors, expectations and standards.

Let me tell you about how I was bullied and pushed out of my teaching job of 21 years because I’m a blue dot in a racist Oklahoma town. Meetings were held at private homes. Plans were hatched. Students bullied and attacked me on the daily. District gave zero support..how could they? They in on it!
