There's no shortage of shitty people but a certain subset seem to go through a sort of Alex-Jones-ification where they feel compelled to post videos of themselves lauging maniacally about mass death making even most of their allies, the Casually Bad People, very uncomfortable...

I'm glad everything went well but it WOULD HAVE BEEN kinda funny to get a seuquel to Oceangate where the rich people are ladies and they're lost in space this time

"Ja men det gick att göra något åt förut tills ni bestämde er för att testa ett annat sätt som ni sa skulle vara bättre men det funkade inte så kan vi göra grejen som funkade sådär förut?"
"Åh nej absolut inte. Totalt orealistiskt. Störtomöjligt. Att du ens föreslår är pinsamt faktiskt."

"Okay but it feels unfair because *I* didn't buy it! I didn't choose to have two houses, my parents left me one!"
"Just pick one and sell the other?"
"But I don't want to!"
"Okay then keep both? Have two homes."
"But like... Do I *really*?"

Went to a party a couple of weeks ago with the sweetest little rabbit. It was just roaming around like a cat, going from person to person getting pets. Going away on its own for a little bit havinga snack, going under the couch for a bit, coming back out for more pets.

What gets me is I think this is how A LOT of people assume everything already works basically?
Like if you work hard you can afford big house, nice big car and pool and if you don't work you have kinda shitty apartment and small ugly car and no pool.
But you'd be okay. They wouldn't let you DIE.

I like what a mean-girl comment that was. I guess it wasn't supposed to be but wow.
Imagine if you were almost 80 and someone said you looker healthier than EVER BEFORE, then asking if you'd been eating LESS McDonald's?

I mean it'd be nice if it worked like that wouldn't it? Like an underappreciated sit-com mom going "Fine! If that's how you treat me I guess I'll go to my sister's a few days!" But that doesn't work in real life, especially not on a societal level.

Sounds like something Tobias Funke would say.
"Sorry, honey. I'm in kind of a bad mood today. Those mean contstruction guys by the parking lot really rearranged my guts this morning!"

He gets all dissapointed when he goes to the kitchen and realizes it didn't change for real.
Must be a bug. Better go back to the computer.
No now it's back again! Gotta go back to the kitchen and look! Aw... I missed it. The bug has to be only when *I* go there. Darn. Hope there's a patch soon.

The same as "Well WHY do we need insulin? People from the past didn't have it and they were fine? What did people do before vaccines? How did they survive?"
THEY DIED. *EVERYBODY* didn't die. YOUR ancestors didn't die, not before they could procreate, but later from something preventable probably.

Like I'm SURE the vast majority of these ventures weren't pure cynical PR campaigns. I'm sure they really wanted to help people but instead of finding someone who knows what they're doing, knows how to use the money efficiently and boringly and how far it can go it HAD to be a vanity project.

That's why this way of helping people doesn't work.
Sure, there are rich people who have used their money and fame to make a difference but so many times they'll make these grandiose promises and then lose interest when it turns out it's hard and boring sometimes. Or they find a new shiny thing.

And not even 80! 79.
Though I don't think it's incorrect of him to fear there's a non-0 chance he won't be able to do it for 80.
For one reason or another...

Obviously concepts are usually pretty far from the end result but it's still funny to introduce the concept of "We're gonna focus on Europe by pushing the boundaries and going further outside the box than anyone ever has... We present... the least street legal car to ever exist..."
