This is it. The plausible scenario is not that the 2028 elections don’t happen. It’s that they happen with every financial oligarch and major corporation backing the GOP. And every major media organization backing the GOP, except for The NY Times which is trying to be neutral.

Holy crap, HHS cancelled VRBPAC. (For non-public health people: This is the US contribution to the WHO-led identification and selection of flu strains for the next flu shot. There are other countries contributing. But US labs and expertise have always been a huge factor in the final agreement.)

GOP messaging also never does this. When the right freaked about the IRS not approving Tea Party groups for nonprofit status, no Republican was out there saying "of course, we agree that the IRS has a role in rooting out scams" - it was just guns-a-blazin' opposition.
