Trump says he's signing an order "instituting reciprocal tariffs on countries throughout the world."

It’s stunning to me that the New York Times did not put the story on the bloodbath at the NIH, CDC, and FDA on its front page this morning.

@booker.senate.gov made history yesterday. He made genuinely “good trouble.” During his brilliant record-breaking filibuster, he asked “Where does the Constitution live, on paper or in our hearts?” All of us are called in our own way to answer that question by our actions, not just our words.

Another one of my favorite childhood whites. He was my huckleberry.

Apparently all it took to get China, Japan and South Korea on the same page was Trump 😭 Sports analogy: this is like getting the Yankees and the Red Socks on the same page

His first movie, Top Secret! was a very silly World War II spy spoof of very little merit amongst the low merit spoof films of the 80s but he was as bright and shiny as the sun in it. It's streaming free for everyone on Pluto TV and worth the 90 minutes to turn off and just giggle. RIP.

I'm very much on the side of if you can't get rid of your tesla you should remove the logo. I don't think you should put another car logo in it's place though

Aight man

Elon Musk is the Drake of billionaires

Terrible news about Val Kilmer. Naturally, it made me think of my favorite scenes from Tombstone. This one is among them:

If Corey Booker can stand and speak for 25 hours, can't we citizens pledge to stand for a couple of hours on Saturday, in defiance of the desecration of our Constitution? If this isn't important to you, what is?

Booker etched his name into Senate history by breaking Thurmond’s filibuster record and putting a stop to business as usual. Judge Crawford won decisively in Wisconsin despite Musk's $$$$$, and Republicans suffered unexpected setbacks in Florida.

Just think of today as a historic landmark.. think of that 1957 & Thurmond statement wasted NOW forever in history books, Cory Booker has changed history today..Thank you @booker.senate.gov #WeAllBleedRed

Things still terrible, but: Viktor Orban was unable to stop protests in Budapest; Musk's money couldn't win the Wisconsin Supreme Court for Repugs; Marine Lepen is fuming over her court loss in Paris; and Corey Booker made a bravura stand against Trump in the Senate. More days like this please.

Well done, Corey Booker. "Good trouble!"

They're remixing Corey Booker on tiktok. God i miss protools.

Cowardly scumbag Rafael Ted Cruz protested on the Senate Floor in 2013 to try denying people Healthcare services. Senator Corey Booker protested on the Senator floor for over 25 hours to call out the damage of orange felon’s crime spree. The two are nowhere near the same thing.

"Booker beat that bigot Strom Thurmond’s record from the very same podium where Thurmond opposed the Civil Rights Act in 1957! Absolute legend! 🔥🔥🔥" bsky.app#:~:text=Book...

Genuinely, today is just story after story of the unraveling - after *two months* - of all of Trump’s signature policies. Prices for Americans are going to go up because of tariffs. Other countries are not buying American weapons. Other countries are stopping buying American products.

Happy Birthday to Tracy Chapman! Here she is busking in 1985. Three years later, she would release her classic debut album with "Fast Car," "Talkin' 'bout a Revolution," and "Baby Can I Hold You."

Really glad to see that this program was reinstated. Shows that pressure and scrutiny can have an impact.

I stand in full solidarity with the Turkish people. You deserve better! Georgia, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, and now Turkey—let this be the year of the fall of authoritarian regimes. Amen to that! 🇬🇪 🇷🇸 🇭🇺 🇸🇰 🇹🇷

Government by homicidal maniacs!!

Putin needs Trump to broker a “ceasefire” in Ukraine bc Russia can’t afford to keep fighting. It’s Afghanistan redux.

Trump's executive order tonight has illegally cancelled union contracts for 67% of the federal workforce & 75% of unionized federal employees — roughly 700,000 union workers This may be the single biggest attack on the labor movement in American history

On the Signalgate scandal, says @brianbeutler.bsky.social, Democrats "should behave as though they will chase Trump and his minions to the end of the Earth to get the full story." www.offmessage.net/p/the-everyt...

Congrats to the White House correspondents who failed to stand in solidarity with the AP and now get to stand by their new peer, a dipshit podcaster and Putin stooge. Dont complain, you earned this.

Once again, imagine if this was Biden how news media would frame it

The Phoenix officers who beat and arrested a deaf man with cerebral palsy will receive 24-hour, unpaid suspensions and more training as punishment

I'll start. Kash Patel could have been shining shoes at the FBI, while Karoline Leavitt served coffee to the White House press corps. Which both may be doing in a few years if the felon and his financier manage to implement the GOP's anti-woke and DEI master plan, Project 2025.

I don’t make a habit of trolling people (except Brett Favre) but we need to normalize trolling Karoline Leavitt. 😏 Who’s with me?

one of the great messaging victories of the conservative movement is how it, outside of nerds like me, successfully buried the fact that it was vocally anti-anti-apartheid
