That reminds me fondly of dante the graveyard keeper in ocarina of time ๐Ÿ‘€

So yeah. Tough to design these little buggers. But game jams are great fun. Engaging with other developers, see what people think. If we try to measure our full games like this as well, maybe we can take away some valuable lessons for them, here and there. The end :D

Pacing is another thing. Time between gameplay beats must be tuned with laser sharp precision. Make the game tick at the exact right rate to capture players and keep them going with the beats. This is quite the challenge to make and people seem even less forgiving when this isn't right. (3/4)

If you have a mechanic to communicate, you're in a tough spot. Players need to understand it and quickly. Sure this is true for any game but in a jam game, the frame of mind of a player is limited. They are not invested. It has to click. Otherwise they are gone, playing another game. (2/4)

There's always the option for MORE CHEESECAKE. I know I'd take it without batting an eye

Hustling, fighting the uphill battle against time. But it's fine. Ain't no rest for the wicked. Or someting :D

We should definitely make some time though. If nothing else then for research purposes. Keeping close to the pulse of time, so to speak

Not sure how "me" this is. But it's a great feeling. Literally reaching the light at the end of the tunnel

Very creative. I think it would make me very angry, personally, though xD

There is also no regret with burgermeister. None. Ever. Doesn't happen. It's just waaay too good.

The cover art for hazard pay is tremendously good. Just gotta say it.

I have fond memories of irc, honestly. But I will surely miss my custom emojis once its inevitable downspiral starts picking up

Hour late. I blame timezones and all that! But here goes. bsky.app/profile/game...

Get these every now and then as well. They keep on making me nervous and I eventually delete the old Library folder to sleep in peace ๐Ÿ˜…

It does feel that way, doesn't it ... On a personal side, it also feels that like newcomers and one or two people efforts are being well ignored by things like grants and funding. Way to grow I guess?

So them are the fabled crash sausages ๐Ÿ‘€

That's right! 10k wishlists are merely peanuts at this point. Quite frankly, it would be a disappointing day

Each and every single one of my games. Wouldn't even get out of bed to press the release button without at LEAST 1mil. <written in comic sans>

And then covering it all in fresh protection coating, making it all shiny and nice

Awesome. I feel like it's a really good thing to find these similar games. Sure, it gives you a little bit of an uneasy feeling at first. But it's a valuable peek outside of your own development bubble. Especially so in genres where the supply is scarce.

Immediately bought it, played it and like you mentioned already, jotted down everything I thought was interesting. Also stashed the biz contact for later because these folks might be interested in crossovers and such like. Couldn't know until you ask, right?
