Well I more meant to generate fanfic at an industrial scale but this is also on the table.

I'm more afraid that a lack of toilet paper will turn my house in the capital wasteland.

What would happen when DK snaps his fingers?

Definitely. And it suits big corporations to be able to label their products indie games / music / movies because a lot of people want to support independents but probably don't look into who's making every game they buy.

Until recently people didn't realise you could be a communist and look cute doing it. Teen Vogue are bridging that gap at last.

Not me. I'm always shooting. *pew pew* 🤠🔫

Unfortunately indie began to mean more about aesthetic rather than anything else almost in almost every context or medium where it's used. Which would be fine if we had replaced it with something instead of using it for both.

GTA is a bit a bit of an outlier. There hasn't been an entry in the series for over a decade and it's still massively popular. Most other big franchises release a game every year or two. Bumping the cost of those entries too 100$ is harder to swallow.

Everything needs to be huge now. Few companies are satisfied with moderate successes for moderate investment. Even if it means a lot of their large investments absolutely tank.

I just think you're being very dismissive of people losing their livelihoods. That's all.
comment in response to post
So you think the problem is just TikTok and other apps won't cause the same mental health problems? And you're fine with people losing their jobs to test that theory?
comment in response to post
Welcome to people.
comment in response to post
Do you honestly think it's gonna be much of a benefit to teenagers mental health? What do you expect them to do in the absence of TikTok when no other social media platforms are impacted?
comment in response to post
Neither is not having any money.

Business owners have kids a lot of the time.
comment in response to post
Well I think the economics has a fairly large impact on the mental health of those who are affected so it's not exactly a win for mental health either.

He doesn't really look much like her but ok.
comment in response to post
I never said you did. I just wanted to point out the ban has nothing to do with mental health since you raised it as part of the conversation about the ban. It's purely down to the app being Chinese owned.

Zero Trust for data. I like it.

It wasn't banned because of mental health concerns.

Well the Steam Deck doesn't support a lot of new AAA titles and is already costs than both PS5 and Series X. Also the Series S has already caused a couple of delays on XBox. A handheld would be an even bigger challenge. There has to be some compromise to having a handheld.
comment in response to post
This is it. Nintendo just have one platform that developers need to target and one platform to sell customers. Games are either compatible or not.
comment in response to post
It's not that they couldn't do it. It's more about how a handheld would fit into their product lines. It's either super expensive to match current gen performance or more affordable but can't play everything. Nintendo only has one platform to worry about.
comment in response to post
It's hard to imagine Sony and Xbox releasing high end handhelds that could match current gen hardware just from a pricing perspective but maybe they will.
comment in response to post
It's tough for them to do while also trying to offer cutting edge tech on home consoles. The Series S already caused problems for Xbox and a handheld would be even more limiting.
comment in response to post
It's at a very different price point though. It's definitely a competitor but not a direct one. It also doesn't come with a dock or detachable controller. By the time you've got those included it's almost double the cost of the Switch. For the record I own both. That's just how I see them.

I definitely think people are underestimating how big a deal mouse support could be. It's almost definitely going to be used inventively.

They actually had it with the boardgames and for a second I thought there was a Myst boardgame I'd never heard of.

I actually think Elon is really cool. Lol jk. Can you imagine?

Nintendo are leaders in a brand new market for gaming. It would have been insane for them to change tact now. I'm also unconvinced we won't see hardware innovation. It'll just come in the form of optional peripherals that don't impact the core experience.

it didn’t go anywhere. every device i own is either a nintendo DS or runs a nintendo DS emulator to play only nintendogs. i gain new devices weekly. each runs nintendogs on a seperate save file. i get as many dalmatians as possible on each. i’m up to 75 and counting. the plan is coming together

Devastated it isn't the Super Nintendo Switch.

Mario Kart is probably their best product and has such a good opportunity to be a cool online community. Custom tracks would be amazing.

I feel like there'll be a browser / application support of some description but with some kind of Nintendo special sauce on top. I can't put my finger on what but there'll have to be a good first party use case for the mouse feature.

Cooking Mama x Breaking Bad romhack when.

Most people asking for a more inventive hardware upgrade can't really point to what that should be. Nintendo are on the back of such a big wave it would be crazy to mess with that formula too much without something groundbreaking.
comment in response to post
If they didn't before Switch they must surely now realize that it's software that sells their systems. Given how little they're moving the bar with hardware (it seems at least) I would imagine their going to keep consistent with software releases.

I might be in the minority but I really wanted it to be called the Super Nintendo Switch. I also would have applaud their balls if they'd called it the Switch U.

Really like the look of this. If it's an OLED display I'll probably get it day 1.

Every time I see anything about Astrobot I desperately want to get a copy but I've already got so many games on the go.

I don't agree with this, obviously, but it feels like even if it were true then why make the movie in the first place? Why blow hundreds of millions on something you think people don't care about?
