It’s notable how visibly scared people are to speak freely in the Oval Office, and how upset those most vocal free speech activists are when being spoken to freely in their own workplace.

Turns out they only brought the wall down to get David Hasselhoff to stop singing on top of it.

Why does that question still even need to be asked?

This is on point.

Folk that do the admin so we can all live happy lives. (what it should mean, rather than what it currently does)

Impossible. This is just more internet disinformation.

To be fair, calling most of 'the colonies' colonies is and was pretty insulting to their original inhabitants too.
comment in response to post
What's not debatable is that a significant number of those former colonies are now doing far better than Scotland, and the UK, now is. Not just economically.

I love whatever that business is, just judging by what they call themselves.

Lots of really similar stories from Australia where Britain tested nuclear weapons on Aboriginal people around the same time. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHWn...

And people are mostly nice, and funny. Like twitter used to be.

A new find. Looking forward to this one

The obvious answer is to keep it, take the details of the people giving you the elephant. Report them to the authorities and ensure the elephant is taken care of by organisations capable of doing so in these circumstances. How is this a hard question?

There's an argument for greater tax relief for farmers as incentive to farm sustainably, protect watercourses and restore/maintain wildlife corridors.

Cringe being used as an adjective is the most cringe thing ever.

I only knew him as Uncle Jimmy. Lovely old man.

Was once sat at a table sharing tea with an ecologist and old Aboriginal Australian man. Ecologist spoke about how we've studied interactions between everything from microscopic organism to whale, but we still didn't understand our own role. The old man took a sip of tea and said 'we make fire'.

Without knowing the context of this I can't tell if this relates to bendy bananas or is a backlash against banana gaffe taped to walls.

We don't 'solve' poverty. We reduce inequality by fairly distributing wealth. Increasing tax on high earners and increasing wages for low earners. The excuses that follow this suggestion form the answer to the question of why we can't 'solve' poverty.

Rumour has it that Scott & Rae built the Crossmyloof drinking fountain. (Rumour I just made up) @pastglasgow.co.uk

Interesting list of addresses here. Wondering if there was a link between Lipton & Sons who're still selling headstones behind the Star Bar. HQ in Antrim. Scott & Rae address seems to drift between Pollokshaws Rd and Eglinton St. Then later Eglinton Toll. www.sculpture.gla.ac.uk/mapping/publ...

I've spent today digging through my photos from that other website as I remove myself from there, I came across this one of the old Star Bar and tram stop. Must be of a similar vintage.

The simple answer is to ask what workers really need. Near enough everyone working in the NHS is there because they care about helping people. They don't want to leave because they have changed their mind about that.

There's a very clear Scottish border, as always.
