Might feel like i'm against side/companion quests that are "Go do X inconsequential thing". I'm not. I enjoyed them all. Just always makes me laugh given the scale of the threat usually in the MSQ. Feels like someone has yet to come up with a great narrative solution for going on side adventures.

If I had to make one critique of the game, its the narrative through-line of "Let's not worry about this threat, and go have a picnic/go see a relative/go do X." It's not unique to this game, but its really on the nose in Veilguard to the point where characters physically say it verbatim.

It feels like a cop out to say, but the last ~4 hours was one of my all-time favourite gaming experiences. Felt like the perfected form of Mass Effect 2's final act. Spent 60 hours 100%'ing before hand, and to see all that have impact, and the cutscenes meld together... awesome payoff.

Veilguard! Closely followed by Astro Bot. Although admittedly i've not played FF7: Remake or Metaphor from the nominee list. Personal hat tips this year to Balatro, Helldivers 2, Vessel of Hatred, and Final Shape (credit where credits due for sticking the landing).

I finished in about 65. Take your time, the finale will pay it all off and then some.

I don't think you're gonna be far too far off. Would love to see Veilguard or Balatro sneak in also. Loved both.

Agreed. I think their new range finally just doubled the base to 16GB, though (well overdue.)

Wholeheartedly recommend Mass Effect and Destiny, particularly anything associated with climactic events in the games.
