I think they must've gotten some kind of state/fed tourism $$. They built a tower at the old ski jump as an overlook, plus an alpine coaster (& the bobsled, which has been used since the last olys.) Lots of cute shops in town.

it's a beautiful little town (esp fall). Crowded, yes. There's a cool little Olympic museum also. I tried to peek in the window of the old rink but someone was practicing in there & the gift shop lady scooted me off, lol. If you have more time, there are other things to do on the old Olys sites.

Should be in NYC...no one hates him more than them, plus trains from east coast cities. Biggest chance for massive crowds.

the reason NYS has early voting now is in 2018 the Democrats finally had enough power at the state level to make it happen. It IS important.

the Giants worked him out six ways from Sunday & still traded up for Dart. Gotta be a reason; thinking same as you. Hope he finds a good place though.

I love the the team boxes around the K&C. Sure, it's a little jingoistic but that's kinda the point 😊. It's something fun after a hard year (tho they are serious about the competing). I'm assuming they were asked to bring their own stuff to decorate.

I had a college professor remind us that Hitler was kind to 'puppy dogs and small children'. A reminder that 'seemingly' ordinary humans do horrific things and you shouldn't be fooled by that.

was just about to make this point. If I had a dime for every time I had to explain to a customer why 25% off then an additional 10% was not the same as 35%.....even when you explained sometimes you got a blank look.

they gave a relative one (home health nurse gave 3 words, she had to remember. She's 91 and yes, she got them right.( Not something to brag about, she's very sharp (could remember what's in the fridge & when trash day is, lol). But not something to pride yourself on as the leader of the free world.

No, they shouldn't, but most of the NFL owners are big biz Republican white guys so it's not surprising. I sorta feel like being in that position (for the players) of having to decline is a badge of honor; hopefully they see it that way.

I did some research....according to the Philly inquirer. Laurie & Sirriani said they'd go, but it's up to the players if they don't want to. I hope they don't. But there's bound to be a few traitors....

I suspect that, as fun as it was, they are running out of ideas that work with current sponsors. And for teams like JRM, they may be making $$ off the die-cast. That said, celebrating the past is still a good idea.

Thank you for sharing; I know sharing personal things isn't easy; but I think you've given others hope. It's awful to think of you not understanding why this was happening for so long.

The white underside of the skirt was distracting. It didn't scream 60s to me, just odd. Wanted to like the program but it didn't seem cohesive, probably the odd music cuts as you say.

I have relatives who grew up in the country....well water, so the kids had fluoride tablets. And the poor kids will be the ones to suffer cause the parents don't have extra cash for that or won't bother. So phenomenally stupid.

Couple wks ago I'm doing 5+ over the limit IN the slow lane. Tractor trailer to the left passing. A guy comes up behind me & is flashing his lights like I'm supposed to pull in front of the trucker to let him through. Um, no. So he pulls into the *shoulder* and passes me. Some ppl are just nuts.

Alan Alda. IIRC, he said his mother saved his life by insisting he go to the hospital, and Sister Kenny treated him. His life saved by two women. My aunt had it. Why can't ppl have common sense....those folks would have given anything for a vaccine.
