It helps if they're at the same maturity level, right?

I’m not a tech person or a government employee, but shouldn’t every American with an email address respond to “hr at opm dot gov?”

I started dating my now husband when he was 29 and I was 40.
Fortunately, he's far more mature than I am. You'd never guess that I'm older than he is. 😂

Congratulations, Claire! This is fantastic. 🥰

I remember being stationed overseas and *never* calling anyone because it was like $3 a minute back in the early '80s.
I wrote a *lot* of letters.

Back when you couldn't buy a phone. Period. You had to lease one from the phone company.
My uncle worked for the phone company and "found" a spare touch-tone phone so I could have a phone in my room (this is when they were new).

My god... can you possibly suck up any harder than that? That was a rather impressive display of sycophancy.

Thank you! I didn't know the native name for it. 🥰

Or a cake sandwich.
And now I want one.

No. The reason they're doing it this way is so they don't have to write a backdoor into the encrypted accounts. Instead of offering an encrypted account with a backdoor, they're not offering one at all.
This is on the UK government, not Apple. Apple is standing by their principles.

Of course.

Oh, for those wondering, it's about 300 miles (480km), each way.
I'm so tired.

He has a place to stay that isn't my house (I love my son but I do not want him to get comfy here), and he and his roommates are all very good friends. It also looks like he's getting his old job back part-time.
Things are looking up. Again, thank you. The donations took a lot of pressure off them.

If anyone remembers my post and fundraiser for my son and his girlfriend - again, thank you for the donations, it really helped get them through a lot.
When I found out they were sleeping for a night in a sleeping bag in the shell of the burned house it was time to take measures into mom's hands.

Think how outraged they were that he used Dijon mustard! You'd definitely this kind of thing would get them worked up even a little bit.

Most of those people were staff answering phones.
There's a reason you wait on hold for an hour or more when calling the IRS - they're seriously understaffed as it is. This is just going to make it worse.
comment in response to
post
Oh great, now when you have to call the IRS it'll take three hours to get through rather than one.
They need MORE staff, not less.

I wish I had some in the freezer! This will probably be my only batch this winter because those little tubs were $6 each. 😲
I have a recipe for red chili that's all canned/jarred ingredients except for the meat, and it's actually pretty good. That's next.

Also, I got rid of my cheap generic Kroger brand garlic powder and onion powder, and got the good stuff from Spice House.
I put 1/3 of what I normally put in and WHOO I'm glad I put less. They are potent!
Yes, I'm using easy mode ingredients. Shush.

I *really* need to do that this year. LOVE some good Hatch chiles. We have a farm store I go to and they'll roast a big batch that day. I'll grab a few bags of Big Jim and a few bags of Anaheim and those usually work really well. Now that I have an actual freezer I need to do that more often.

I use xanthan gum to thicken. Have to be careful or it will turn to gel.

This is low carb so no flour to thicken, and no tortillas. 😩

No idea, but it's pretty common for "retired generals" to opine on things that they wouldn't have considered when they were serving.
We'll see what happens, I guess.
