They weren't as bright and fancy as depicted on TV, but we did, and there were ribbons. They were also mandatory at my school, so they sucked.

1. Move across the ocean a few times, especially with small children, and think of all the things you DON'T want to carry (like another damn bag). 2. Apply lessons to all travel for the rest of your life.

*Some of us wonder. I don't. Food here is fekking gross. And honestly, moving back and gaining 15 lb from the "same" foods is not my jam.

From before I was a year old. Such charmed and sheltered lives to not even be able to imagine things like that.

$115?! Insulin glargine (Lantus, not the biosimilar) is only that cheap with massive coupons, save-my-life assistance programs, or insurance. A standard 5-pack of pens is listed at $400-550 cash price with no assistance. Felt like robbery when I filled in Germany for €85.

Even if the repertoire is small right now, if he's looking through recipes with you, and learning without being forced, he'll be okay. They're out there, y'all.

And the water glass, and how far the plate should be from the edge of the table, and *who gets the toaster - but only if an outlet is available by the table.* Agggghhhh!

I have so much respect for the knowledge keepers, and so much faith in black women and young people. Let us all hold them up together.

But I've seen that episode of Mythbusters, so my interpretation of the cliche is diluted. 😮💨

Listen, I hate peas. If I put peas in something, it means I don't like you.

2 attached to my daughter. The other is too close to feral, so was very easy to scare as a rescue kitten and is still super jumpy (thanks, kids). That one will come and sit on blanket lap, but doesn't respond to anything else besides "food time."

I wonder that would work for my son's T1, because frankly, the cinnamon is falling short.

I had neighbors do this when we lived in a location that would legally track you down and have you pay to recover (ship them to you) or rehome. I reported them so fast.

I had one that would burrow INSISTENTLY. The other didn't even like to be pet wrong because it would mess his fur.

My husband will still shop at both, but I've bought 1 thing, under duress, from A in 5 years, and the only thing I get from W is glucose test strips because they're cheaper and also critical.

And for a mid-loaf change-up, cinnamon sugar. Just a time or two. Then plain again.

One of the men at work got shingles and is still in pain months later and AFTER a capsaicin treatment to dull his nerve endings. Get the shot, y'all!

And before you come at me with macros and calories, listen, if you're low/no carb on purpose, or have a legit health reason to be counting these things, rock on. Do you. For an average user, know that my weight is stable with no other diet restrictions or exercise regimen. So there's that.

"But the sugar!"
Look, I know the havoc fruit can wreak on someone with no natural insulin (my kid), but even a tired pancreas can handle a blender cup of pure fruit + kefir with barely a rise.
(Borderline pre-diabetic literally watching the BG trend on a biosensor for 2 weeks.)
