We cannot afford this.

There it is, the difference between a typical democrat politician and a typical conservative politician. 😅

The cuts are tough but necessary.
If not done now, then it will be much worse later.

Sounds like checks and balances are working.
Except for giving the executive any money to spend, that's Congress's job. Sigh.

The entire Senate and house need to be primaried for this embarrassment.
Then give balanced budget bonuses to the next congress. Say, $2 mil / congressman.

How is he subverting the legislative and judicial powers?

It's an extreme example, yes.
I think what Elon is saying is don't fall off on the other extreme of too "much empathy," that it blinds common sense, like allowing pedos to read children books at libraries.

Good gravy. Read the entire quote, people.
"empathy is good, we should care about people—but if you let empathy override reason, you end up with policies that feel good in the moment but lead to civilizational suicide."

Probably no gonna look, so here you go, you nearly quoted it my friend! (except the gfy part)
Article 2, 1st paragraph:
"The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America."

Thanks.
I think it's saying to keep child inappropriate material out of children's school libraries.
Parents can go check it out from city public libraries if they feel it's appropriate.

Where was it said MAGA is coming for libraries?

Interesting takes here.
The libertarians are say to home school so as not to be brainwashed by the government.
But here it's "we need government to us teach us ... so we can know when the government controls us?"

Negotiation tactic.
People forget many things Trump says is positioning for "a deal." He's not going to buy Gaza. That's ridiculous.
Or he's just trolling the media outlets because he is their top source of revenue.

Imagine doing the same, but with 1/2 that money?
The other unused half, $18 billion, could pay an additional 180,000 jobs @ 100K each.
This is what DOGE is trying to do, keep the legitimate research, cut out fraud and incentives that value marketing skills over research skills. 👏

Everyone supports humanitarian needs at some level.
Elon supports it by developing technologies to aid otherwise "un-monetizable" people like quadriplegics with Neuralink or disabled veterans
Helping elderly transport with autonomous vehicles.
And providing wireless internet for Ukraine defense.

Interesting take, and likely.
Would you agree everyone follows a religion by this definition?

Does that count for POWs?
(Also thinking about illegal immigration and cases of terrorist infiltration)

Just dropping some context Elon added to this in the Joe Rogan interview:
"Empathy is good, but if you have empathy to the point of civilizational suicide, that’s not good. You have to have empathy for civilization as a whole, not just for individuals who are trying to exploit that empathy."
