Proving that this is “indeed a political circus” with his ridiculous pivot to Trans people in bathrooms. I hope his political opponent uses this clip when he’s up for reelection.

Kristi Noem should be impeached. This is outrageous. The whole “briefing” was an outrage. #impeachkristinoem

I don’t think he calls himself that. So she’ll have to arrest all his fans- like me.

Hitting the billionaires in the wallet is a good tactic. But it would be a more powerful message if there were numbers attached to this concept. What does your average rich person pay in taxes versus an average American? Most people would be surprised how many tax breaks the rich get.

I keep waiting for what will finally break his cultists. The p*rn thing may be it. Or are they THAT gone?

Oh, good lord. That’s nuts.

Also likely! But honestly, given his track record, I’d be a bit wary if this was my father.

Is anyone going to hold him accountable for this latest stunt, at least? As citizens, we can raise a public stink, but what else?

In the real (Trump) world, if you DO your job, you’re fired.

A part of me wonders if he gets some thrill from taking risks. It would seem in keeping if he has some form of sadism if he likes watching other people suffer, too.

I’m stunned that his kids give their own kids over to him freely. You’d think after the whale carcass and I’m sure other incidents they’d know better. So either they have signed on to the crazy or they’re in denial. Either way, those poor kids!

Holy shit, JD is the actual touch of death.

A quick Google search tells me he was raised Presbyterian. How would that work, exactly? My husband jokingly told me tonight he’d like to be considered (baptized Catholic but lapsed in practice). This just gets weirder and weirder. We’re going to put the Onion out of business at this rate.

I was about to say “He can’t be worse than the last one” but recent events have proven that there always is a worse one.

This is from an article in the Onion, right? Right??

Completely predictable who the two are and yet still revolting that there are two dissents on a clear human rights violation.

It’s clear from many of the comments that people are not familiar with your work. I live to see your rebuttals of “Bible-thumpers” with your actual knowledge. Congratulations! Looking forward to this title being available.

After COVID, “The Stand” definitely hit differently for me. I read it years ago and zipped right through it. Had to take a break a few times in a recent reread.

That poor kid. Didn’t deserve those parents.

Thank you from one of your constituents. This bill is a bad one for working people across the nation.

Thank you! As one of your constituents I’m glad you are voting in our interests and with Rhode Islanders’ principles.

I’m glad someone called him on it, Rep. McBride’s clap back was awesome. And then Self adjourned the meeting like the big baby he is! No balls!

How about NOT censuring one of your fellow Democrats for using his right to Free Speech? You and the other nine Democrats who voted with Trump’s cultists to censure Rep. Green should be ashamed of yourselves.
comment in response to post
I applaud your stand on Ukraine but your vote to censure Rep. Green was shameful. The time for posturing is over and the time to take risks and take a stand is NOW. Stop voting with Trump cultists.

Shane on you and the other nine Democrats that voted with Trump’s cultists to censure Rep. Green. I hope your constituents voted you out next term.
comment in response to post
I’m not going behind a paywall to read the article. I’m not impressed with your vote. Rep. Green should be applauded, not censured. Shame on you and the other nine Democrats who voted with Trump’s cult.
comment in response to post
Why did you censure Rep. Green? You should be cheering him on or causing good trouble, too. Shame on you.
comment in response to post
Well, unfortunately all the fawning fans on the other side of the aisle don’t care about reality. The time for appealing to his or their reason is over, because there isn’t any reason to be had.

When are the rest of the Democrats going to do a Rep Al Green? This is obscene, the kind of bald-faced lies and the fawning of his disciples.
comment in response to post
With the exception of Rep. Al Green of Texas (bravo to him), you’re all being too damned polite.
