It is a gamble if shit just works. Especially if you regularly play the newest titles. The only exception I've personally had is the steam deck. Sometimes games don't work properly but there's almost always either a community fix or gets patched by valve or the devs.

11 of the current top 25 games are what I'd argue "live service" games or yearly release games. It is very difficult to get people to move on from these titles, while at the same time the other titles on the list have great replayablity. You can see this to be a repeating theme even in the top 50.
