The Trump Administration is making us less safe.

I like that social media gives us the opportunity to make and publish our own political cartoons now. 👏

It also leaves a big hole in their schedule. I’m really curious how this whole thing will play out. Will the center just be left as a shell of its former self?

Make no mistake: Hamilton canceling its next Kennedy Center engagement represents a huge blow for trump’s takeover. Hamilton has been one of the center’s biggest earners and an irreplaceable resource for attracting new subscribers.

People are debating what is the simple message that might break through. Here’s my version I posted yesterday: Trump makes us less free, less safe, and less prosperous.

Trump makes us less safe, less free, less prosperous. That’s what needs to be said loud and on repeat to all Americans.

Benjamin Wittes offers a short list of clever protest ideas. I personally would like to see an audience walkout at the Kennedy Center of the first performance that Ric Grenell chose.

This is alarming but it’s essential to look deeper than the averages. The trust in the Trump administration comes heavily from Rs. Basic data literacy.

Theater kids showing up and being brave yet again. Thought you would like this @hesherman.bsky.social

I would really like to see a more strongly worded statement than this from the artists distancing themselves from the Kennedy Center. The President is stepping all over boundaries between govt and civil society with this takeover.

Arts marketing folks: follow @romanpalace.bsky.social today for a great example of fun, engaging content as they do Super Bowl tie-ins and invite others to join in. 👍

A street artist in DC is putting up these posters all over the city. I’d love to get one.

What are the governance rules at the Kennedy Center? Is everyone appointed or removed by the President? If not, the Board should either resign or push back.
