Two wonderful books that have even more relevance today than they had when they were written. If you haven’t read them I highly recommend that you do.

I assume it’s mostly younger readers who are discovering Orwell. Always a good thing.

Thistle have had a few who seemed to be from a different planet. Does that count? Jupiter

Talk about failing to read the room. Slagging off someone that most Scots think of as a national treasure.

England football fans are still going on about their 1966 World Cup win. How we love them for it in Scotland.

Took your recommendation on The Summer Isles and really enjoyed it. My to read list is getting a bit out of hand so not adding to it at the moment.

Think you should rephrase that. The idea of you giving Hateley the eyes freaks me out too much

Been voting for independence for nearly 60 years. It may not happen in my lifetime, but it will happen.

You are correct. Fascism raising its head in various parts of the world. Where will the new international brigade emerge from?

In Gilmerton today as my partner has meeting with her boss and as she has been unwell said I would accompany her. Bacon and egg roll and a very good Americano £4.40. In Nana’s cafe in community centre. If you are in the area highly recommended. Oh and the music is pretty damn good too.

Listening to Donald Trump’s rants during the first the early years of the nazis was exactly what came to my mind.

Scottish and Italian football legend. Her story is astonishing. When is the movie coming and who plays Rose?

The nonsense before last weeks Rangers v Celtic cup final didn’t exactly help our case

Aye! Like the idea of Jimmy and Brendan sharing a pie after their media duties.

In fairness I suspect they were just keeping out of the weather. Looked hideous. Even Hatate’s normally coiffured locks gave it up and went for the windswept but interesting look.

Read The Shipping News many years ago and loved it. Annie seems to manage to fit one really good gag into every story.

Just started re reading the Discworld novels in no particular order. Probably the best part of 40years since I first discovered them. Still a pleasure

Could be worse on BBC Scotland Chic Young covering Linlithgow v Raith thought he was in Bonnyrigg. A Rose by any other name.

Think the manager has to take responsibility for letting Shankland take the penalty. Feel really sorry for Shankland he has absolutely zero confidence. His plan to move is really looking shakey. Who would sign him?

Just get Dan to carry your kit. While you enjoy your football savouries. Dan will only have a pencil and notebook to carry.

Well done Blackburn. People will be wondering how you can do these prices for Joma kit when SPFL clubs are charging more than twice the price?

As a Jags fan I know only too well. We have a five thousand seater stand made of bricks and mortar. That nearly bankrupted the club. Add in the undersold heating. And the Colin Weir stand which is a nightmare to maintain. Yet clubs like Dundee can offer players twice the wages we can.

One rule for the big boys another for everyone else. Bonnyrigg being threatened with being thrown out of league 3 because their grass pitch has a slope in one corner.🤷♂️

What exactly does Malky MacKay do to earn his wage at Hibs. Haven’t seen him put his head over the parapet at all this season.

I was with Diane at the auction with instructions to stop her buying too much. A task that transpired to be like King Canute trying to hold back the tide. Cracking afternoon out and the items she bought made her. very happy.
