There are loud confrontations between big names; probably a feature of the right splitting over Ukraine

I guess the question is, would we choose it today, keeping the economic parameters constant? I'm really not sure

Here's a headline in the main Norwegian newspaper from 2021 describing the F35 as "the Ferrari of the air", citing costings from Jane's and Air Force Magazine www.aftenposten.no/norge/i/we2m...

But all the countries selling fighter jets offered cooperation and cashback. The difference was the US was the more attractive partner, in no small part for geopolitical reasons

I followed the Norwegian debate closely back in the day. I could be wrong, but I don't recall price being the main selling point for the F-35

Not equal, no, but much much more expensive

I didn't realise Mikrotik was Latvian. They make the objectively best-value-for-money switches

Thank you, wonderful list. I would generally suggest to look locally. A lot of good service providers for many needs in all European countries. I would also raise a glass to wonderful European network device manufacturers, teltonika-networks.com and mikrotik.com

Har du prøvd @grapheneos.org ? Jeg har hatt det i 4-5 år, veldig fornøyd. Oppleves helt som vanlig Android; alt av vanlige apper fungerer

Indeed. This is in fact what I use. It does require some effort to set up, which is why I didn't include it. But more companies and organizations should switch to it

Yes, both of those are European and private. I didn't include them because it's hard to switch when your contacts don't. My sense is there's critical mass now for Signal, which I am happy with

I agree with you -- it is for most people too. But it involves a certain change in digital habits, which many people don't have the time or motivation for. Also I try to tone down my Linux evangelism, as I suspect people like it as much as they like being told to convert to vegetarianism

Yes except it's all encrypted, so sync is a bit slower

If you really want to go all in, you can switch to Linux as your operating system, get a Linux PC from Tuxedo (Germany), and get a Gigaset phone (Germany), but this is probably not for most people. 10/10
