I feel like we were doing the "slowly build the case for rights" thing for decades and now the rights are being taken away *very very quickly* and, wait why are we supposed to move slower than the actual ongoing events, or our opponents

you do not actually win fights by avoiding conflict. you win fights by fighting.
people hyperfocus on persuading individual people over an undetermined amount of time to gain rights not because it's effective, but because it avoids conflict, because it keeps things quiet and "peaceful".

American gender clinics weren’t created to help people. They were designed to regulate them—especially poor and racialized trans women. Their job was to police who counted as “really” trans.
That legacy lives on. Today’s system is still built around rationing, surveillance, and gatekeeping.

They chose to cut off the first couple lines where Gunn says "I really understand Lex. I feel like I relate to Lex way more than I wish I did"

Setting up a boundary does not mean you are cruel or abusive. Telling an adult parent you are disappointed in their choices is not disrespectful. Refusing to be obliged to pay an unspecified debt you did not incur is not being ungrateful. Demanding respect does not make you a "spoiled brat."

the parents did things the law obligates parents to do, such as provide food, shelter, clothing, and an education.
Rather, it seems to me that the parent owes more than obligation to the child: the parent owes the child for forcing existence upon the child.

Paying an ODM to make a Snapdragon device for us is increasingly appealing. We would have all the device support code we need, could build it with compiler-based hardening and would be able to harden a lot of the device's firmware. We could also make secure element applets.
