Disappointing from the Guardian. The guy is a puppet who has neither the franchise nor faculty for original strategic thought.

Even after seeing Vietnam, the whole of Africa and Afghanistan you still think the rich and the powerful will win just because they are. Poland ain't going to lie down.

Yeah it's all in your imagination there is no Labour right just people who are not quite as far left as you. And even those people never undermined Corbyn. When we lose we need to own up to why and not blame others.

Oh dear. π It's been cool chatting. I can tell you are completely wedded to your dislike of anything that isn't your side but the numbers don't lie. We tried your way and lost, we tried a different way and won. I prefer being in power to actually make change to ranting. Peace and love always.

I would agree on that position. The article you link to literally articulated the specific reason. That being the position on Brexit on which Corbyn was at odds with the majority of Labour voters. I am not sure what you are failing to see.

One man's luck is another's strategy and preparation. That's the reality you are refusing to deal with.

You are struggling to take the L. Starmer did not help Corbyn lose that is just a lie. The truth is the Tories and the media painted him as a rabid communist which we all know he is not but you guys are intent on blaming the centre left which is a shame. We voted for Corbyn.

Well it is unfortunate that you seem to have a very narrow view of what Labour should be. The reality is it is much broader and it is evident looking at election results you win if you carry the centre. Reality is you can't change anything if you are not in power.

There is no point in all these if buts and maybes. You work in the situation you are in and Starmer lead labour to a win that's just the facts. He did what needed to be done in the circumstances.

I don't know you do I cannot speak to your specific situationm Working with a broad coalition is difficult. When Corbyn ran many who didn't believe he would win with that policy position got behind him. There is a difference between trying to influence policy and actively undermining the leadership

The Tories were inept when Corbyn lost as well. Nice try.

You know for a fact that is not as simple as you are suggesting.

Come on getting more votes among left leaning people predominantly in big cities is not a winning strategy in this parliamentary system. The evidence is very clear. You have to win constituency seats not just overall votes. A winning strategy is the one that actually won.

It's a very simple strategy. Instead of holding Labour accountable and campaigning for liberal policies you guys are just throwing tantrums. How is that helpful ππ€·π½

So many of the comments here that are posturing as left wing and anti Starmer are so similar they have the feel of a troll farm. Is it already happening on @bsky.app π€

Starmer has not done anything to try to please the establishment. He won the election by taking voters in the centre. The job now is to shift the centre left. It has nothing to do with trying to please the so called established.

No, if you carry on this way you stand to have Farage as PM. Labour won the election by taking the centre ground and that upsets you so you join the right in creating the straw men and trying to make it seem like Starmer is doing a bad job. That will get you Farage.

Labour moved to the centre to appeal to voters and won the election. It is not that complicated.
