I think we’re seeing that the two parties aren’t that different. They both speak different things, yet want the same goal.
Billionaires have infiltrated both parties. That’s why Bernie and AOC is continually silenced.
The Democratic Party doesn’t hate Trump, they hate how loud he is

It's worst than useless, it's active sabatoge. The reason the Democratic party isn't fighting, is because the Democratic party is getting exactly what they want.
Lower taxes for billionaires, and the ability to blame Trump when it all goes to shit.
The billionaire donors are happy as can be.

I think there is a large chunck of Republicans who actively dislike our constitution, Trump being one of them.
There is a group of Republicans who believe their 'law and order' comes from the Bible they never read and not the constitution.
'All men are created equal' goes against their philosphy

Democrats - ‘Maybe if we roll over and do everything Trump wants, maybe in the future he may let us have something special if we’re nice.’
AOC - Trump is a liar and a loser
Democrats - Noooo! We can’t rock the boat, we have to play nice and let them have everything or our billionaires will leave

The problem with Trump and Elon is that they are breaking the rules. Even if we had a perfect constitution with no flaws, it wouldn’t matter because Trump could kill a guy and his base would still love him.
What rules could you possibly make to stop a rule breaker?

Remember when Jimmy Carter had to sell his peanut farm because there was a slight chance he could profit from it as president?
It’s terrifying how much we’re willing to tolerate now

‘First Amendment Absolutists’ don’t exist on the right. They use that moniker so they can go unpunished, until they have the power.
Their right of speech exists to shit down our right to exist

And this is why the Democrats can’t win an election. Most of their voters want to stop Trump.
But, just like in the election, their number one job is to not upset billionaire donors
As a result the Republicans get whatever they want, because what they want is for billionaires to be happy

The Republicans are actively destroying our government. Each compromise you give is another piece that they will dismantle.
Stop compromising with people who refuse to give you anything in return.
This isn’t the lesser of two evils. This is giving evil the keys to the car

A perfect example of the Democratic Party’s strategy
Complain about the evils of the Trump administration. Explain how the law would hurt everyone and everything.
Shrug their shoulders and say, ‘now’s not the time to fight.’
Roll over and give the republicans everything.
Rinse and repeat

Sad to see that the teaching shortage is more than an American problem.
But when a profession doesn’t directly make capital, it becomes impossible to keep in a capitalist system. Even if the job is essential to the society

The level of complacency the Democratic Party has shown is appalling. In the face of rampant corruption they insist on compromising on every single piece of legislation. Never once backing a popular position in fear of losing billionaire donors. Now they get destroyed by billionaires, how fitting

The problem is that capitalism doesn't allow for empathy. The more empathetic you are, the less money you have because you donate most of it. But we reward rich people and equate them with 'good'. So in a lot of people's eyes Elon is rich therefore Elon is 'good'.

I think it’s important for people to realize that Fascism is a pattern of thought and not a one off event. Many countries in many time periods have fallen victim to one persuasive figure with an iron fist.
We have not escaped the patterns of history

It’s nice to see real actual people changing history. The technological age is adding a lot of interesting ripples to how history is playing out

The similarities between the gilded age and now is striking. Billionaires devouring the economy, new technology exploding growth, mass media keeping individuals in blissful ignorance, and a corrupt White House willfully making it worse
Here’s hoping we actually learned something

The job of government is to protect people from forces beyond their control. Now billionaires pose the greatest threat to the average citizen. Our leaders need to take action, or be destroyed by those they swore to protect

When we have a president who blantly breaks the laws and norms with no foresight, it takes brave bold actions to make a statement. Thank you Representative Green for representing the voice of the people.

The only solution I can think of is this, we have to deradicalize one person at a time. If you can convince just one Trumpist then that's one less person he has power over, one less family ruined.
Hopefully you're intelligence can sway at least one per episode.

How do you unpropagandize someone? It's practically impossible on a larger scale because propaganda is designed to create an ingroup and and outgroup. This is the biggest problem in our political sphere today, and if we don't fix it we might be in for a lot of trouble

I would love a Trans perspective on my episode. This is a new podcast and I'm planning on making a lot of mistakes but I'd like to find them and fix them if I can.
I hope you enjoy and I'm glad to join BlueSky. In these chaotic times it's easy to feel powerless. But I think ideas are important
