BREAKING: USAID contractors/aid recipients say Secretary Rubio and USAID leader Peter Marocco should be held in civil contempt for violating a court order to lift spending freeze.

Residents in #Ohio held a caravan and protest against the Evandale police and their role in helping to facilitate an armed neo-Nazi demonstration on the I-75 overpass. Residents are furious after video showed police staging with the Nazis in a Uhaul at a school before leading them to the overpass.

At this point, it's starting to feel like the goal.

about to land. so far the worst part of the flight is the person in the row in front of me watching the Quaid Reagan biopic so i saw the doctors save Reagan's life.

Hi! I’m Ken White. Welcome to Law Talk, @politico.com’s new legal newsletter. Today we’re talking about the APA, the Administrative Procedures Act, which is a scientific and professional organization that represents psychologists in the United States.

I was in a meeting a while ago where the consensus was that Splinter had been wrong to publish Stephen Miller’s cell number. When I disagreed the editor said, “But what’s the point of doing it?” and I said, “Well, tormenting Stephen Miller.” Nobody found that persuasive but I still think I was right

i don't think reading this to yourself does justice to how bad it is. read it out loud. you'll immediately notice how stilted and uncomfortable the prose is, like someone struggling to articulate an actual thought

granting the premise of this, how would you know what questions to ask?

Things are not developing as I would wish. www.cnn.com/2025/02/18/p...

i will become a total shill for whichever politician decides to become the joe mccarthy of rooting out silicon valley ideology and influence

again, this is the easiest political slam dunk in the world find a veteran with a lifetime of public service who has been fired for no reason and bring him on television with you do it again tomorrow with a different veteran, and again, and again show the human cost

One thing eve6 has going for it is in a sea of bands that are either overrated or underrated we occupy the rare position of accurately rated

It takes over 25 ¶¶ before WaPo explains why Trump is failing to meet the deportation numbers he promised: Stephen Miller lied about the number of criminal aliens in the US to fearmonger and get Trump elected. www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...

I know Stathis. He was a colleague of mine at the University of Chicago. He is a pretty buttoned-down scholar. For him to tweet this out is… something.

#TeslaTakedown

It's instructive to look for the signs of this in each of our (white people's) everyday lives. We can all see it at Trump/Musk level, but it helps to ask, how often in *my* workplace does the mere idea of relying less on white supremacist assumptions/structures result in crazy levels of resistance?

An important baseline for everyone, especially the press, is to assume Republicans in legal offices like attorney general are lying about the law. Because they usually are.

and then what happened when the stakes actually mattered, bozo

"The Nazis had a kernel of truth to in their slogan about how their opponents were not human beings but disposable fake humans" what the fuck is wrong with you

In addition to being brave and the right thing to do, Sassoon’s letter points out that the Emperor has no clothes — it demolishes the utterly fatuous, transparently corrupt excuses for dismissing the Adams case.

Anyway here's how it played in the press last time anything went this far, just for reference

Two more points, which are obvious to the people reporting on this. 1) A shit-ton of people in Public Integrity were in early purge bc they were on Trump case. So ~4 of their colleagues joined them today. 2) Both Acting Director & Deputy Director of FBI are from NY and NJ--so some ties to SDNY.

Do people not understand what’s happening with the Eric Adams thing? The memo instructing the prosecution to be dropped explicitly said it was because he was carrying out the president’s agenda. It was “you’re working for me, so we’re letting you go.” It was an explicitly corrupt bargain

THEY ARE DEFUNDING MEDICAID AND BUYING CYBERTRUCKS WITH THE MONEY. Dems stop saying "uh he promised he would lower the cost of living" and take the layup

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: an administration (and its supporters) who believe that they are not limited by the rule of law have no moral or philosophical claim to the protection of the rule of law. “The law is whatever we say it is” warrants the same in response.

Firing prosecutors who are pursuing brutal white supremacists is of a piece with the anti-DEI orders, as segregationist social orders are maintained through law enforcement winking at violence.

Republicans in disarray. It's important to note that they're NOT united. They're fighting over how much money they should cut from all of us to give directly to billionaires. Any is too much. But Let them fight.

is the goal merit or is the goal segregation?

if companies are really so worried about lost productivity, maybe instead of trying to force people back into office, they should just start lobbying to stop holding one of the biggest nationally celebrated drinking events on a Sunday night

saw something I could be pedantic about but I decided it wasn't doing any real harm to simply leave it be so I just kept scrolling and folks, it's just that easy

The New York Times suddenly wants to figure out where all this anti-trans mania came from. Try looking in the goddamn mirror!!!! www.discourseblog.com/p/the-new-yo...
