Because he's awesome.
And there is something comforting about flatterers winding up in a lake of shit.

C.S. Lewis said that if you make something a god that isn't one, it becomes a demon. Even good things, like patriotism or human love.
Too many Catholics have supported all manner of other evil for the sake of making abortion illegal. Which doesn't even decrease abortion.

His anti-abortion stance has always been a fake performance for evangelicals. I'll bet my life he's paid for any number of abortions. He has BRAGGED about the enormous number of women he's had sex with. You think the only women he's gotten pregnant are the ones he's been married to?

A lot of that Real Estate is where you'll find a soup kitchen, food pantry, shelter, and where poor people are actually welcome to be.

The Catholic Church does more to feed the hungry than any organization in the world.

Why doesn't it belong there?

Just what we need: People who don't read deciding what children read.

Is there any reason to think it will be "done right" instead of just increasing the gap between the haves and have-nots?

It's disgusting that they think any decision is theirs to make.

But you seem to have a problem with the Christians who DON'T do that.

Actually, the early Christians were killed by elites and oligarchs for being Christians.

And considerably worse, since it lacks love.

Maybe, but I don't think it's nearly as much cherry-picking as pretending that greed is a virtue, or making a guy who's cheated on all three of his wives and bragged about it the leader of evangelicals.

I hope it makes you think it's maybe more complicated than that. The Catholic Churches in my neighborhood usually welcome gay people. My old Episcopal Church had a gay priest and a lesbian priest. Some churches were conducting same-sex marriages before it was legal.

And this is another Catholic Church near me during Pride Month:

It is faith-based, if Trump is your god.

They also HAVE the chance to be heroes, almost every single day. But they'd rather be selfish assholes who thump their chests about what "men" they are, while doing nothing that helps anyone at all.

In NYC, Muslim cab drivers drive gay men to gay bars.
In some of America, Christian bakers refuse to sell a gay man a cake.

Ironically, if we called it the "Gulf of the Americas" Trumpites would be FURIOUS. They don't like being reminded that "America" is the whole hemisphere. Including those brown people they hate so much.

It's not "upsetting," it's petty, and it's an insult to our neighbors. And that's WHY he did it: to insult our neighbors.
He's also made CANADA an enemy. Destroyed 150 years of friendship in 3 weeks.
AND he's insulted Europe.
But Russia? North Korea? He LOVES them.
And hates America's ALLIES.

Harris didn't murder anybody.
Bibi did.
And he will now be completely unchecked to murder more.
And you helped.

So you did what Bibi wanted you to do, and got his choice in the White House. And now the Palestinians are SCREWED.

Anyone else reminded of Nixon's "Saturday Night Massacre"? When Attorney General Eliot Richardson resigned rather than obey Richard Nixon and fire Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox?

Destroying things just because it makes you feel good isn't "masculine" and every actual male should be insulted by the thought.

Exactly. It's a civil marriage, and not something a church is involved in.
The Catholic Church doesn't marry divorced people either, but they don't try to make it illegal for non-Catholics.

The prosperity Gospel is blasphemous. Satanic, even. Jesus said you cannot serve God and Mammon, and those folks think Mammon is God.

Some reporter should ask him who some of these people are. I'll bet he has no idea who Dorothy Day or Medgar Evers were.

Any bishop whose main concern with clergy sexual abuse is "damage control" and "public relations" should be removed from the Episcopate immediately.
It's a crime. And a heinous sin.

How in the world does a President have jurisdiction over the rules of a sports organization?
Yes, we can stomp on immigrants and the poor, but at least we stopped that trans girl from playing badminton.
