If the government has no control over bond yields and bond yields determine fiscal policy, then we should be demanding every day that they present us with a roadmap for getting out of that situation (and not a roadmap supplied by the markets or the treasury). www.theguardian.com/uk-news/ng-i...

Rachel Reeves on BBC news solely blaming Covid for the growth of the civil servicein recent years. I hope interviewers aren't letting her get away with this. www.lbc.co.uk/news/civil-s...

The astonishingly stupid people who either don't understand the relationship between flying, emissions and #climate breakdown Or just don't give a sh*t I suspect the latter - selfish bast*rds www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I don't often ask people to write to their MPs. But I think they might listen to you on this, as it's so jaw-droppingly awful, and they're almost certainly unaware of it. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre... Please also write to the Environment Secretary: [email protected] Thanks.

Only just over half (55%) of Labour’s general election voters say they will definitely vote, compared to 78% of 2024 Reform voters and 70% of Tories Not surprising Labour voters are jumping ship after Starmer's sick war on the poor and failure to tax the richest www.theguardian.com/politics/liv...

Everyone should be screaming like this! More of this, now please!

The hidden cost of privatisation can be seen everywhere The domino effect of privatisation can particularly be seen in agriculture, where 40% of costs come from energy use - showing just how insidious Thatcher, Blair, and now Starmer's legacy is www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/...

Mental ill-health is behind soaring disability benefits bill in England & Wales. Problems triggered by insecurity, anxiety, poverty, poor healthcare. People taking refuge in drugs, alcohol, suicide. Govts cut benefits, support services. No strategy for dealing with the causes.

Too bad Uvalde Elementary didn’t sell Teslas.

The pickets are spreading. #TeslaTakeDown

Not looking quite so smart now. This is from September. www.declassifieduk.org/starmer-perm...

To revive economy UK govt must redistribute wealth. Bottom 50% of the population has 5% of wealth; bottom fifth has 0.5%. 1% have more than 70% population combined. Median wage is £29,604. Real average wage unchanged since 2008. Cut taxes on the bottom 50%. Tax wealth. End tax perks of the rich.

Sounds to me, mate, like you would be better off in Reform You are certainly a million miles from being a socialist www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

I note with interest right-wing media's total absence of any concerns about prominent BBC presenter Armstrong expressing his highly political opinions. As was always perfectly clear to many of us, the problem was not that Lineker had views, but the fact they didn't approve of his views.

The world is 700% richer than in 1970 but the average person is only 8% richer. Because the richest 0.01% are 4000% richer. We are all being robbed every second of every day, and it doesn't matter how much profit or growth there is. It will never reach you.

👏👏👏 www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

There is an alternative to Government welfare cuts - a 2% tax on wealth. There is no shortage of money here, we just need a fairer approach to tax - take more from the few not the many.

The man is human pollution, America's id. The international community is going to rally against this country to make sure we're hurt for decades because of all of this and we'll have deserved it.

Oh dear, Elon Musk learned how they do protests in France.

I still have an account on X. It's fascinating to watch it slowly but surely choking any genuinely dissenting views. The boa constrictor of Musk's fascism is determined to squeeze every vestige of Twitter life out of anyone that even mildly disagrees with him.

Amazing news today - after months of looking I’ve been able to find the perfect sized greenhouse … AND ITS FREE!! I love people who love to pass things on to be used rather than skip! Now I need to figure out how to dismantle and bring home on Thursday x

🗳️ NEW ARTICLE | "Reform Takes The Lead" 🖊️ For the first time since 1982, a third party has taken the lead in the average of British opinion polls. But how has this happened? Find out at the link below: 👇 statsforlefties.com/2025/03/04/reform-takes-the-lead/

It is possible for billionaires to face justice.

Yes

The bottom line is that Zelenskyy refused to give away Ukraine's mineral wealth, without a cast iron guarantee of support if (when?) the Russian's come around for a third time to grab some more territory.

Citigroup credited a client’s account with $81tn when it meant to send only $280. It was missed by both a payments employee and a second official assigned to check the transaction And we are told banks have good internal controls. Wait till AI takes over. archive.ph/L2LAY

Tomorrow, 2/28/25, is Buy Nothing Day. Enjoy!

Discovered a whole new level of cringe 😫

Good little poodle!

This morning I'm at the launch of the new "Growth Plan." Labour are getting it badly wrong. 👇🏼

Why the fuck were BBC & Guardian editors meeting an Israeli general during a genocide? @declassifieduk.org has revealed that several UK corporate media editors - including those at the BBC - met with a top Israeli military officer a month into the genocide in Gaza www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/...

Paid to pollute Just obscene www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Words fail me.

The neoliberal political-economic model of selling everything that isn't nailed down to the corporations - allowing for the systematic impoverishment of the majority of citizens - whilst making socially Liberal gestures towards minorities, is dead, as is the political class that supported it.
