This guy approves.

It would be greatly appreciated if anyone in DC can carefully document what's there before and after. Both to preserve the history, and to bring into relief the truths the regime is trying to bury.

This seems apropos: www.salon.com/2021/08/12/m... (h/t @ferocepadovana.bsky.social)

Kudos to Mother Jones for doing the hard work of reporting on this. After seeing the dearth of coverage in the Sunday papers the next day, I felt compelled to do some research on the subject: bsky.app/profile/j15r...

I'm not a writer, but I'm pissed and can't keep my mouth shut. If you see anything wrong, missing, or have other comments, please let me know. We need the media's help, not cynical complacency and horse-race coverage.

I saw someone recently refer to this dichotomy as Murdoch's "innie" and "outie", and couldn't stop laughing. Well, more of a laugh-cry...

Well, you were at least getting the straight story about the _theory_ of checks and balances. They just couldn't imagine the system settling into a two-party deadlock, let alone horrors like Gerrymandering. Now we're stuck with the escape hatches, like amendments and impeachment, welded shut!

Unfortunately, there's a good reason almost no other democracy on earth has survived this long with a Presidential two-party system like ours. Getting there seems nigh impossible, but I'd give damned near anything if we could have a parliamentary system.

John Lewis looks approvingly over this good trouble in the ATL.

Now we just need Reuveni and every other competent DOJ lawyer to resign in protest, leaving the regime with no effective lawyers to represent them in court.

Also saw some great signs: bsky.app/profile/j15r... ... and speakers at the Capitol rally: bsky.app/profile/j15r... All in all, I was really impressed with the ATL. We all got off our collective asses to be heard!

I wish I'd thought to record it! I'll keep an eye out for anyone else who did.

Finally, I loved this... "addition" to an Anduril ad on a Marta bus. #handsoff

Note John Lewis looking on, thinking "Good Trouble".

And yes, one of these is right next to the Margaret Mitchell House, an irony I rather enjoyed.

Note the focus on CDC and civil rights. We passed a portrait of John Lewis, who I had the honor of meeting when he was our congressman. I think he was looking on us approvingly.

Dolan's been doing this for ages; banned everyone working for law firms representing plaintiffs against him back in 2022. Sadly, an appeals court upheld this in 2023 (www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/m...). I know Letitia James has been pressing them on this. The city really should ban this behavior.

Right? One can only hope that we'll be able to put the pieces back together when we're (also hopefully) on the other side of this nightmare. But it won't be easy and nothing is guaranteed.

"singles out the National Museum of African American History and Culture as problematic [...] asserts the American Women’s History Museum plans to celebrate male athletes participating in women’s sports" Of course it does.

“Why was Uncle Sam Black when Uncle Sam is white". The stupid, it burns! I think that sums up the mentality behind a lot of these complaints.

“We have some of the best technology minds looking at how this happened.” I think those minds have better things to do.

Aw, damn. For a second there I thought they had released a Lumon Terminal font! Would have gone perfectly with this keyboard... www.idownloadblog.com/2025/02/06/s...

“Any form of censorship at all or directing people to believe one idea over another [...] any such contracts or grants to fight misinformation [...] any contract that could be used to ‘censor Americans’” These are some Orwellian linguistic contortions to avoid directly saying what they're saying.

"the response — led by national security adviser Mike Waltz — to the leak" Well, I think we can see why the person leading the response is trying to preserve Waltz' job...

Where is the press corps pushing back on this nonsense? If this is a press conference, they should be asking hard questions, regardless of the consequences. If it's _not_ really a press conference, then the press should just stop showing up, and let the regime post these bullshit videos wherever.
