Why couldn’t they have just let Tim Walz run the campaign? These people are so. fucking. weird.
That said, I guess any amount of time spent on crap like this is time they aren’t spending on designing concentration camps.

Accusations, suspicions, allegations—hmmm, maybe we should send Trump to a foreign torture prison.

“Disappeared” is a direct allusion to what happened in Argentina in the 1970s and 1980s. To put it another way, “kidnapping” is what criminals do, for ransom; “disappearing” people is what governments do. It’s on a much larger scale, and it’s much more grotesque:

It’s not really a new term, but even if it were, what’s the point of criticizing people for using it?

Passport? I guess she’ll have no way to prove her citizenship when ICE smashes her car window and drags her off to a detention center.

I got to this sentence and stopped reading: “A highly successful humanities book might have a print run of 2,000, yielding only 1,275 in sales.”
“Print run.” 💀💀💀💀

Anyways, $10/six-pack still gets you 30 plants for $50. I think we can agree that guy doesn’t know anything about growing tomatoes!

I used to start from seeds but don’t have a yard with sun anymore. Favorite variety: Rose de Berne. “The Brandywine of Europe.” Used to order them from Fedco.

You’re going to need at least a two-gallon container, but that will only work for determinate varieties that produce smaller tomatoes. For indeterminate varieties, you’ll need at least a 5-gallon container. So you’ll be repotting them anyway. Why not start with $1 plants? Or better yet, seeds?
comment in response to
post
Yes, in the ground. Which is where tomato plants grow. Except for container varieties, which produce small tomatoes that no one is going to pay $1 for.

Garden stores will usually have fairly cheap six-packs as well. YMMV. I do agree that single plants in larger containers are going to be more expensive.
comment in response to
post
I mean, yeah, if I want to buy 2-foot tall plants in a large pot, they’re more expensive, but why would I do that?
comment in response to
post
LOL, six-packs of tomato plants are $5.98 at Home Depot, and if I start them from seed they’re much cheaper, even taking into account the soil and containers.

$50 for ten tomato plants? Fuck selling the tomatoes, I’m just going to sell plants to idiots like this guy.
