Of course they knew, comedians joked about it, it wasn't only the camps but the mass atrocities carried out in the east, the main reason the Germans fought so hard on the eastern front was that they knew what they had done and feared retribution on the German population.

When the USA invaded Canada in 1812 to their surprise they found that the people of French background much preferred being Canadian and fought successfully on the Canadian side.

Just to remind him, Russia was Nazi Germany's ally, they invaded Poland together, Russia then went on to murder over 20,000 Polish officers. They then invaded Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. At the same time supplying as much war materials as possible to the Nazis.

Being old, I can remember when there was a deposit particularly on takeaway acholic drinks, then you used to get cash back. It was a very good way for children to earn extra pocket money.

Not ideal, however after 14 years of conservative neglect NHS hospitals are literally falling apart, it's going to cost a fortune and take a long time just to bring the structures up to date, never mind the expansion required. The government is caught between a rock and a hard place.

There has already been an inquiry in 2022. www.gov.uk/government/p...

You wouldn't think that there has already been an investigation into grooming gangs. www.gov.uk/government/p...

As a 74 year old man I knew about, my wife knew about and the women of my age knew about. You had to try really hard not to know about it.

Just a reminder, reform is a private company owned by Farage, it doesn't have members.

Being a farmer isn't compulsory, if they don't like it, just sell it to someone who does.

Yes, women should make payments for the extra 5 years that men worked, whilst they outlived men. That's how ridiculous this is, the only people who didn't know about it were women who were not interested to listen to a radio or read a newspaper. I'm a man and certainly knew about it.

Yes, the unfairness was that men retired at 65, women retired at 60 and to rub salt in the wounds then lived longer than men. Only people who had their head in the sand were unaware of the change, it was very well publicised.

Put the blame where it belongs, 14 years of conservative government.

The problem is that over the 14 years of conservative government our defences have been drastically reduced, it takes a long time to rebuild.

Why, the majority of the population are atheists, time to remove all religious privileges.

Yes, listened to radio 4 today which I don't normally do, I turned off after a piece about how well reform were doing.

Unfortunately it's not just freelancers, the amount of time spent chasing unpaid bills is incalculable, it's rife throughout British commerce. A great productivity boost would be given if legislation was passed to force on time payments with real penalties for directors for late payment.

Much better than having a party rule you with a minority of the votes as happens in the UK

Why do we need platform edge door? Another case of over engineering at massive extra cost. Cars now have automatic braking for pedestrians. It's very much easier to fit to trains which are on a fixed route. Cars can steer and brake themselves. France has driverless systems so why can't the UK

There are no sky fairys, and I find it very objectionable to use your belief in magic to maybe condemn me and others to a very unnecessarily painful death, it's not a fate I would wish on anyone.

Don't you mean the 14 years of conservative government.

As the conservatives were in power in January you are obviously confirming how useless the conservatives were.

Back in 1971 when I got my first mortgage the second income definitely could be taken into account, however the amount you could borrow was 3 times one income or twice the joint income.

It takes time after 14 years of conservative misrule.

These prices are under the conservatives, they had 24 years to sort it out.

Interestingly there is high support amongst the age group most likely to be affected, the 65+.

Joining the SM & CU comes with the perceived problem of freedom of movement, however this is an easy sell as it would lead to immigration from Africa and Asia (which is what leave voters really hate) dropping to pre leaving levels.

The backlash from British media, plus the charge of going against the will of the people, there is also the problem of the deep divisions in society that Brexit caused, no government wants to reopen them, they haven't healed yet. In my opinion the potential benefits will far outweigh any risks.

No, we must let them go bust so we are not saddled with their massive debts.

If Thames water goes bust we must ensure that the debt stays with the old company and is not transferred to the new.

I'm 74, so the last generation to know people who actually got polio. We also remember the fear that female children didn't get rubella as the consequences of catching it whilst pregnant were so dire. My generation irrespective of their political views are first in the queue for every vaccination.

I've just bought the Egyptian version for my granddaughter as she enjoyed an Egyptian project at school, never did anything like that at my primary school although that was in the 1950s.
