It's a weird time we live in when I write a troll email to OPM but the address auto-populates because this isn't the first time i've done this.

I know there are like 10000 more dire things but I'm always in awe of how unprofessional their writing is

?? You don't need to take my word for it. He's Dominican American and she's Indian American.

I think the reason is more obvious than you think. Everyone’s fucking exhausted. Everyone fought so hard last time and it seemed to make little difference. Even when we won and he was finally removed, four years later he’s back. Great swathes of people are just worn out and profoundly depressed

You can either pay people to work for you or you can only use people who can afford to work without pay.
Going to severely limit your staff with the latter.

Genuinely curious here- how do you think you spread the word without hiring people?

What campaign activities can you think of that DON'T require money?

This is so freaking obvious. The first Democrat to end up in cuffs trying to stop this will be a damn national hero.

Nazi enough to gain the support of the Nazis but not so Nazi as to lose support of low info voters

What if, and hear me out, Ukraine got to keep their minerals and we could then buy them from them?

Also if that's the definition of consent, being in a relationship with someone doesn't remove that barrier. You might know them BETTER but you can't absolutely know their mindset which is why we have to rely on agency.
It seems the argument is agency doesn't exist.

I do not understand this techno-Puritanism at all. Like at all.
If there are no issues or consent or things like emotional harm, of course it's ethical!
How did we get here?

JQA going Senate -> cabinet -> President -> House is so wild by today's standards.

Interestingly one person who would not approve of that is Donald Trump.

Their goal should be telling the truth, not keeping access to liars.
They can tell us they're lying without being in the room.

I do. Cruz once took nine months to respond.

I've had Republicans represent me nearly my entire life.
Can't really yell much at them when they never make themselves available to constituents.
But my Senator finds the time to run his own podcast...

It's both true that they're not doing enough AND that ultimately, they can't stop a nomination.
But when it comes time to actual legislation, they can shut down most things which is why it's now incredibly difficult for Congress to actually govern and the right wants all the power in the executive.

I swear I was trying to respond to a different post but it was definitely on this topic. :D

All of the damaging actions he's taking are because he considers himself a king. This is not a distraction. There's no distinction between his declaring himself king and gutting the government.

It takes 60 votes in the Senate to end the debate over a bill and actually vote on whether to pass it.
Cabinet appointments only need 50+1 votes to end debate and vote.
Senate Democrats can't really stop a nomination vote but soon the Senate will primarily be dealing with things they CAN stop.

Is there a counterexample? Has he ever done anything to make people think he has leadership qualities?

I've never seen any evidence he can read.

I agree. What I'm not understanding is the need to know she wouldn't change her mind again. What action is contingent on knowing if she will change later down the road?
If she votes against the Republicans next year in the midterms, is there something that's going to depend on her 2028 vote?

We don't know that but why would we need to? Are we putting her in charge of an agency or something?

We have years upon years of examples of exactly what they could be doing thanks to the Republican Party doing everything they could to shut down anything they didn't want happening while out of power.

No, you'll just be able to make it look like you know what you're doing to people who don't know what you're doing.
