What do you mean by this?

It is? Both games?
comment in response to post
The Last of Us was platform exclusive so many haven’t played them, plus the TV audience is much larger than for video games.

Judges like it when you are cute, do they?

Dude, they’ve always been cooked. They were cooked before we were born.

Compared to a governing party whose zero charisma leader can’t say that people like me are even human.
comment in response to post
Oh no, not the most functional political party on that blighted island. What will we do.

The fact that Ireland like to dress itself up as some third world country instead of a very rich member of one the most powerful economic blocs in the world will never be lost on me.

These people want the Singularity to happen so badly yet that’s not how this works, it’s not how anything works.

People do not understand the scale of the Holocaust, not a bit

I honestly find that artists that become activist are some the worst activists.

This is why I ask “Who started the war?” to people thinking the Korean conflict was some bog standard American misadventure.
comment in response to post
Anyway I did not expect that to blow up as it did.

Either this person was incredibly dim (not understanding the gendered connotation of brunch, really?), or playing dim for effect, don’t know which is worse.

I said it. This is what I mean by gerrymandering. It almost always excludes Jews and often excludes modestly affluent women and gay men (and other queers), even though they are prime targets for authoritarian regimes of all kinds.

Would be nice if they actually protested Nazis, instead whatever kosher restaurant put up pictures of hostages. Yeah, 10/7 radicalized me against leftist protest culture.
comment in response to post
That’s nice, and it would be nice if that was all it was. In practice “extending the circle” is always in practice is distorted, excluding some and over-including others.

…and some of us are only here because we a forced to care about politics full time because we need to sometimes take a piss in a public restroom or not get black bagged into an unmarked van. I, personally, would like to not have to pay attention to politics 24/7 in order to exist.
comment in response to post
Of course these people’s “spheres of care” are so gerrymandered and non-Euclidean they should probably not talk about it at all

“You wouldn’t be out here if it wasn’t Trump!” Well yeah. Most people don’t actually want the eternal socialist revolution against bedtime. They care about things that actually affect them and the ones they love.

Sorry leftists if most normal people don’t want to be involved in an eternal struggle session. People actually like nice things and nice lives and want to keep them.

The reason you won’t answer the question is that it’s inconvenient for your ideology. US invasion bad, but communist invasion requires nuance. Get bent. Arguing with a communist was, and is, always a mistake.

How did the war start?

How did that war start?

…and the fact that you bring up Korea shows how fucking ignorant you are. Trivia question: how did that war start?

I never said that. I said dictators are bad. The choices aren’t “US invasion” or “strongman dictatorship”. The fact that you guys always think foreign strongman are some authentic voice of the people that need to be defended from western influence is a you problem.
comment in response to post
The US probably shouldn’t be invading foreign states for funsies, but not because of “sovereignty” or “autonomy” or other gibberish. Those are just permission structures for tyranny and oppression.
comment in response to post
Libya? You want to want to bring up LIBYA? I’m sorry one your favorites got murdered by their own people, deservedly.
comment in response to post
How is being ruled by incompetent dipshit authoritarians who disappear and murder their own people somehow letting them “make their own choices”

“Democratic elected”. They’re not even pretending to be that! Maduro doesn’t even want your apologia!
comment in response to post
You people always have such a boner for Latin American left-wing strong men. I mean going to bat for Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua is loser shit.
comment in response to post
I’m the monster? You’re the one complaining that the US is being mean to Nicolas Maduro of all people.

These coups are news to me, as the authoritarian regimes are still there. None of these regimes are democratic in any meaningful way. Also I don’t see how USAID was involved in any way here.

Name one (1) coup caused by USAID

You mean politics, ordinary electoral politics. What a scandal.

Facebook gets worse and worse every year, and honestly that’s impressive. You’d think there would be a bottom, but nope it’s an infinite void.

Also more generally, the idea that exposing bad behavior is *bad* is a good deal why we are here in the first place. Low trust BS.

G-d, only privileged rich Americans would invent the term “wage slavery”. It’s a wage, it’s not slavery.
