it's just remarkable how little energy they're willing to put into rethinking their actual product; why people use it, how people use it, how to make it easier and friendlier to use — nooooo, none of that, let's just continue making everyone's experience worse, all the time, forever

(their grand new idea is orders of magnitude worse, but still)
We're all willing to be products... To a certain extent. If your service brings me nothing but advertisement and cheap attention grabbers, it has no use in my life. Facebook has been utterly wiped out. It's just trash now.
just full of conspiracy theory and ai images of nonsense for the over 60 crowd. Just trashy!
Like, you got a hit, printed money, you can play state fairs the rest of your life, quit demanding eternal relevance
Accept that some never even get a "sex and candy"; be graceful
Zuck is the smash mouth of the rich
oh, not always. many terrible creators. But...
Facebook was never exactly "The Piano." just a well timed product he mostly nicked from someone else.
Zuck personally controls a majority of vote-share (though only a minority of stock— it’s structured so his shares count more) and basically can’t be fired.
Buncha tech-knowers told me this was impossible.
Which of course is exactly what they mean
Honest question, I've been wondering for a while cus I've always wanted another place to post hobby stuff
(Especially when I eventually start working on a layout :3)
Indigenous people (at least in Canada) is one such group. The classic "everyone is on there" very high utility.
If Zuck nukes everyone's contacts, he'll never be found.
But I get fed almost zero content about them and am force fed the algo instead.
Which my reptile brain clicks on and I end up hating myself for it. Sounds like a winner of a platform.
Is a lucky coder, not a tech visionary
Before that the only reason was keeping up with folks I hadn't seen since college a decade prior.
If he'd instituted this before craigslist became a ghost town I wouldn't have an account.
