This is not how federal criminal investigations work. —me (former federal criminal investigator)

@jenpsaki.msnbc.com: "Inspectors general are a headache for everyone. You know why? Because they're investigating every agency and they find stuff! Including waste and fraud and abuse! They wouldn't be firing them if they cared about waste, fraud, and abuse."

There are moments in these deportation fights when I can just FEEL how pissed off they are that I’m Puerto Rican 😂 they want to threaten me with it so bad 😂

The measles outbreak in Texas is the worst in thirty years, and it’s a DIRECT result of declining vaccine rates thanks to RFK Jr. Disinformation is eroding public health. In 2023, measles cases were 20% higher than in 2022. In 2022 they were 18% higher than in 2021. See the pattern? 1/

“I have been proud to serve at the U.S. Department of Justice and this office for over 24 years. During my tenure,..I have always been guided by the oath I took.... to support and defend the Constitution." - Denise Cheung It’s the women who are having a spine. Take note.

I’m George Takei and I approve of this message.

AOC has the right idea. Corporate welfare costs us $92 billion, the top 1 percent will receive an average tax cut of more than $60,000 in 2025, and it is estimated that extending his 2017 tax cuts will cost $11 trillion over 10 years. Let’s work on getting rid of the waste that is already there.

Could someone place an order for 100 more Jasmine Crocketts for overnight delivery to the Democratic Party thx in advance

Connecticut Attorney General William Tong talks checks and balances 👇👇 (1/2) “This is a check on executive power run amok. This is a check and a balance on a president that wants to do whatever the hell hr wants. We cannot have that in America.”

Blumenthal: "What world is he living in? It is not only contrary to the facts and the truth but utterly despicable. A disgusting betrayal of a country that has bled and fought and died for freedom ... the president's surrender is pathetic and weak."

When it looks like a coup, smells like a coup and tastes like a coup, believe me it IS a coup! #THISISACOUP Don't obey RESIST.

Dark Pence is back.

They are angry that a judge restored a public website providing life-saving resources from the CDC, FDA, and HHS.

Treasury Department officials admitted today that the agency “mistakenly” and “briefly” gave a member of Musk’s DOGE team the power to alter a sensitive federal payments database. The disclosure undercuts the Trump administration’s repeated claims that access was limited to a “read-only” basis.

Habba’s understanding of the separation of powers is about as good as her legal prowess

it is genuinely incredible that all you have to do is scratch the surface and it becomes clear that each of these guys is a huge piece of shit

In Worcester v. Georgia, 1832, the Supreme Court determined that the Cherokee Nation was a sovereign nation. President Andrew Jackson pronounced the decision "still-born," and the Cherokee ended up in Oklahoma (those who survived). We've been here before, Congress. What are you prepared to do?

“Those employees who remain are being warned to expect their actions to be surveilled, from their swipes into government facilities to the keystrokes they type on their computers.” Definite Big Brother energy here. www.npr.org/2025/02/11/n...

That only makes it more of a challenge.

The CFPB is one of the American people’s best defenses against waste, fraud, and abuse. Demolishing it will, of course, lead to more waste, fraud, and abuse.

Screw Google for capitulating to this childish nonsense.

Just got a tip from a guy at the FAA. You'll never believe who is still getting new government contracts while all the contracts at the Department of Education and USAID and other agencies are being nuked from orbit.

The post says “Married women pay attention” and you really should. Been telling you for months, you are the main targets. The rest of us minorities are collateral damage.🤷🏾‍♂️

CFPB - closed USAID - closed Medicaid - under attack NIH cancer funding - frozen Department of Education - under attack But do you know who just got a NEW government contract for $38,858,978 literally today? SpaceX — owned by Elon Musk

🚨🚨 Pam Bondi will prosecute companies who hire minorities and women.

Dear media, No, Trump isn’t “signaling” that he “might” ignore the courts. He. Is. Ignoring. The. Fucking. Courts. The end. Do your damn job.

A quick search of Cotton’s accounts show that the first time he posted a single word critical of USAID was 5 days ago, despite serving in the Senate for 10 years and the House before that.

Nailed it 🏆

Lord knows I’m not a constitutional scholar not even a lawyer (and I’ve yet to check in with @kateshaw.bsky.social) but a legal regime in which “you can do crimes if you’re buddies with the president or praise him publicly” is *on its face* a violation the equal protection of the laws.

this attitude — paperwork is for sissies, real wars are won by Big Strong Men — is traditionally a harbinger of ruinous for defeat for everyone who holds it

If you are looking for someone to say that all is lost and the courts can't help protect democracy, you are following the wrong guy. If you are looking for someone who fights hard and will never give up, I'm here for you.

Reminder: If 230,000 more folks had simply voted for the black lady we’d all be arguing about the best way to get the Senate to vote to add long-term care to Medicare coverage right now.

my view is that as soon as the administration froze disbursement of congressional appropriations we entered constitutional crisis territory

Paul Martin, the inspector general for the USAID, has been fired after resisting the administration. Just a day ago, his office released a report warning that staff reductions and spending freezes put hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars at risk of misuse and waste. This is the way.

Damn… GIRL is calling this shit the fuck out!

47's Project 2025 is making America... G r e a.... *SPLAT*

Ooo this is a good one ☺️

OH HOW WEIRD I WONDER WHO COULD POSSIBLY BENEFIT FROM THIS?

The Department of Agriculture says that grantees of the Food for Progress aid program can resume their operations for agreements made in 2024 or earlier. The program had been halted as part of the Trump administration's pause on international assistance, despite a waiver for life-saving aid.
