Read our new paper on how the economic empowerment of one generation of women drives greater political officeholding for the next 💪✨

The falsehood came from the right. How (radical/ extreme) right shares mis/ disinformation more online. Good to see @uva.nl colleagues @pettertornberg.bsky.social and @julianachueri.bsky.social’s research featured in @theguardian.com #polisky www.theguardian.com/world/2025/f...

More exposure to working mothers during middle/high school greatly reduces girls' child penalties when they grow up. Exposure to working fathers has the opposite effect. H Kleven @princetonecon.bsky.social, G Olivero & E Patacchini @cornelluniversity.bsky.social cepr.org/voxeu/column... #EconSky

Holy forking shirt balls "Denial of a wanted abortion has both immediate and lasting effects. It increases a woman’s risk of death by 2.5 p.p within nine months, mainly due to unsafe abortion procedures, and raises the likelihood of carrying the pregnancy to term by 31 p.p. "

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.

Welt zum Täter von Hanau vs Welt zum Täter von Aschaffenburg

The problem *is* the context. Anyone can accidentally put their arm up in a weird way but if you spend your days amplifying hate and replatforming white supremacists and your evenings funding far right political parties in Germany, people might start to see that gesture as part of a pattern.

🚨 New WP Alert! 🚨 In 2010, Denmark launched a controversial policy labeling certain public housing areas as “Ghettos” based on high immigrant populations, crime, and unemployment. The goal? To change the socio-demographic makeup of these neighborhoods. Did it work? 🤔 (1/4) #econsky #econtwitter

Trump is demanding countries cede their tax sovereignty over US multinational corporations operating within their own borders – or face serious countermeasures. Countries must now choose: surrender, or defend your taxing rights with a #UNtaxConvention. taxjustice.net/press/trump-...

„From the 🇺🇸 , 🇫🇮 and 🇰🇷 to 🇹🇷 , 🇹🇳 and 🇹🇭 , falling birth rates are increasingly downstream of a relationship recession among young adults. Baby bonuses put the cart before the horse when a growing share of people are without a partner.“ by @jburnmurdoch.bsky.social on.ft.com/4fWosfH

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
