It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

'GOP freaking out' as 'hauntingly familiar' revolt against DOGE takes root: Dem strategist: A Georgia Republican got an earful from a fired-up crowd of constituents who were angry at his support for wide-ranging layoffs of federal workers and budget cuts by Donald Trump and his unelected adviser…

American planes are crashing almost every day and the Secretary of Transportation is visiting the Daytona 500 and tweeting at Pete Buttigieg.

A reminder. Democracy Docket's entire website is free. Democracy Dockets daily and weekly newsletters are sent to subscribers for free. The only thing Democracy Docket charges for is its premium content. That is how it is able to provide all of the free content to over 350,000 people every day.

This is the way… “The elected officials in Washington have to stop protesting in Washington. They have to go back to their districts…show the consequences…show the school that isn’t operating…they have to make it real.” With social media, word will spread to neighboring districts—even red ones.

I remember when Attorney General Pam Bondi said she'd protect federal whistleblowers in her confirmation hearing. Now they're being threatened with illegal "discipline, including dismissal."

Mike Pence just reposted an old article he wrote about the limitations on the powers of a president. For some reason. Here is a part of it.

The DOGE circus clowns are already leaking classified U.S. data? What could go wrong? 🙄

Hahahahahahaha

Correct. If the birthdate field contains corrupt or mismatched data, it defaults to 1875-05-20, which serves as a flag. May 20, 1875, is the day the international standards and metrics treaty was signed. Everything is a conspiracy when you don’t know how anything works.

This didn't age well.

Feels like a metaphor

Trump's democratic actions have been met with a litany of lawsuits. And though the courts have consistently ruled against him, some have suggested that Trump may ignore the orders. Are we in a constitutional crisis? We explain.

NEW: Donald Trump fired a bunch of veterans today while simultaneously hindering care for veterans. In a month or so, republicans in Congress will cut food stamps so these veterans won’t be able to feed themselves or their families. I wonder how many of them voted for Trump.

Why does a 38-year old U.S. Attorney in SDNY, who is also a die hard conservative, have more guts and integrity than the entirety of the GOP Senate Conference combined?! Shame on the shameless sycophants and enablers there, who can’t find the spine to stand up to common MAGA bullies.

“I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.”

This is beyond dangerous.

This is just one of thousands of harrowing stories told about the U.S. Government abandoning Americans abroad in the USAID shutdown. This is Benghazi times a million. 1/
