This please flawed me. Thank you for putting your feelings - and I think those of so many - into words

Ditto. I am not sharing mine with anyone, it’s frankly embarrassing

Agree! And it’s funny you should say that given that in the late 90s/early 00s one Gerry McGovern headed Lincoln design and ultimately reported to j mays. The type 00 proportionally refs the Lincoln concepts of that time (mk9), and the Cadillacs (sixteen concept) they were riffing against.

Agree, the sante fe is a stronger piece of design for me. As you say, for uk will make more sense. Shame as E-GMP platform, broadly, is a winner.

The latter. Concept xc was a half model. Concept coupe became ES, and there was a hard model redone of it for the glass box.

Meantime that was meant to say. … though “Mean joke” is maybe a Freudian slip in the context of a the new jag branding…

Fun fact about the concept ES. It’s actually the original concept coupe, with a new roof/rear on it. When Thomas ingenlath arrived at Volvo, he was given enough money to do 1-2 concept cars. But wanted to do 3 to show the band with of the brand. This was the creative solution to that challenge.

And hey, no snark perceived or offence taken at all - this kind of debate and perspective is important!

And relative to himself, Drew was using it to highlight more that online debate has become weird, and the industry has become weird - as podcasters but also who work in / in Drew’s case trying to work in the industry to move it forward… you can easily be shut out for delivering unpopular views

But whatever you think, I believe the point @drewpasmith.com was making sat around the amount of hate he’d received, including (I think) death threats in the context of not wanting to say too much. No one deserves that, whatever you think of the journalism or person

A lot’s been made of that video - it’s a long time since I’ve watched it and I’m not here to defend it, but as I understand it Jason was trying to produce a piece of entertainment, in a very limited amount of time. I didn’t see it as a traditional review.

Loved listening to this - very amusing to hear your own company’s ”hr” discussed, and then to get a shout out for my and @drewpasmith.com’s own podcast later in the show. High five @ajpbradley.bsky.social 😉
