How long before Melanie Trump does a photo op at Niagara Falls in a pith helmet?

We'll thank goodness the fascism deniers finally believed what their eyes should've been seeing long ago.

Glad to see more coverage of this particular topic. As I mentioned in a weeks-old thread, one of the drugs I've taken during my protocols is an immunotherapy that needed NIH grants to get off the ground. I'm with Vaughn: not only is this important for the nation, but it's personal for me.

“Everyone who (correctly) called Trump a fascist before I personally did is hysterical” is not an argument anyone needs to take seriously

Gotta love how the anti-anti-fascist argument has totally collapsed, yet Nichols and others continue to blame The Left. At some point, conservatives need to take ownership of the fact that their movement produced a fascist president.

This is all part and parcel of Rufo's overall plan. Just the other day he said he wanted to privatize federal loans explicitly to drive universities into a "recession." The goal is to burn the modern university to the ground and erect a right-wing simulacrum.

It's really rich for Moyn to go "well, the facts changed, and I adjusted my opinion" when his entire "The real threat is liberal hysteria" shtick was entirely built on *ignoring the facts* and arrogantly dismissing everyone who pointed out how untethered from empirical reality his position was.

Trump is pretty famous for his loyalty to people who help him, so I'm sure nothing bad will happen.

This is actually crazy considering how much stock the Democrats put into polls when crafting their own policies.

Every time people find out what I research they're like "Oh man, I bet you're having an interesting time." Yeah, and I really wish I wasn't.

Kamala literally had Liz Cheney with her on the campaign trail. Not exactly the "base" of the party!

I'm gonna keep tapping the "You gotta wonder about the future of the Democratic Party" sign until there's a hole worn through it.

Conservatives have been simmering in the right-wing ecosystem for so long that they're high on their own supply. I bet Trump and company think they're *nailing* this event.

Watching the absolutely spineless display by the Dems reminded me of this post. They're just allowing Trump and company to browbeat and laugh at them on national television! At a certain point, you have to wonder about the future of the Democratic Party.

I see the phrase "competitive authoritarianism" thrown around a lot on here and while that may be descriptive of the moment we're in I cannot stress enough that you should never say that phrase to a normal voter and instead just say Trump's trying to be king.

A 21st century USA that is hostile to multi-racial democracy, newcomers from other places, and religious pluralism...and which uses state power to advance the interests of a handful of corrupt white plutocrats, will look a lot like how most Southern states operated from the 1870s into the 1960s.

Lol, if the party follows these recommendations then they really are going to get Tea partied

Hey Democrats, I'm begging you to stop having the exact same, super weird, problematic talking points as conservative Republicans. Y'all are telling on yourselves.

Gotta love the mileage the Republicans continue to get from the "Green New Deal." You know, the raft of legislation that never passed. It proves the idea that sticking to a message, even if it's total bullshit, is incredibly effective.

Repost with the first album you bought with your own money.

I think it would make a big difference in our health if we banned Pharma ads from America like the rest of the world does.

Hi so, this is truly an awful development. NIH funding is incredibly important. How do I know? I am benefiting, literally right now, from scientific breakthroughs in cancer research.

A few weeks ago I was invited to discuss the history and historiography of the far right with colleagues @jenmittelstadt.bsky.social, @johnshuntington.bsky.social, and @marshabarrett.bsky.social. The video from the event has just been uploaded if you want to check it out. youtu.be/ARmn5up7azE?...

The whole conservative movement is just three conspiracy theories in a trench coat pretending to be a coherent ideology.

When you don’t understand how anything works, everything is a conspiracy.

In other words, Trump wants everyone to be poorer so they will accept their lot in life with shitty, precarious jobs.
